Ignoring stupidity as unworthy of the attention of intelligent people is what got RM Nixon and GW Bush reelected. The U.S. Military did a brilliant job in Iraq, but when it came time for the “leaders” to take over, the World discovered the U.S. had no effective leaders. Now, years later, there is still no leadership, and still no plan for the Iraqi occupation -- absolutely none. But "let him finish what he started" got an incompetent President reelected. He can't finish, he never could, since he never even started the leadership phase required to “finish what he started”.
