lots of irons in the fire actually - and i feel a little guilty having so many options when many have so few, but the pace of change is getting a little stressful (slow change - I prefer fast change and pick up the pieces later).

Meeting with a colleague from Marquette Monday who thinks there are options at that institution - may be a better match than CUW or UWM, but not sure what 'options' mean.

Meeting with the Board of Directors from the Brown Deer YMCA to see about the prospect of getting treatment space in exchange for providing development services for a stroke program (which might parallel some of my treatment stuff). This would allow me to bill Medicare/Medicaid for treatment outside of the home which I currently can't do. Billing only home based services is really limiting because the goal is to get them out of the home... yet once you do, the funding runs dry.

Meeting with people at Froedtert/Medical College next week about a rumor I've heard that they are interested in hiring someone who would be developing/coordinating clinical trials for rehabilitative services. Essentially research coordinator - I might enjoy that as it marries my research/teaching love with more hands on clinical practice. I might also hate it if what they really want is another PT to bill services and they are only paying lip service to the R&D.

The university seems to want to offer me a contract yet never follows through so getting real mixed signals. At this point, it's not legally wise for me to sign anything anyway - so I have no great need to push them forward towards offering a contract.

Nothing needs action until it's a crisis (University policy), so my guess is that I'll resign only to have the University try to keep me - too little too late. A real dissapointment actually since I love the immediate faculty and have a real sense of ownership of that program.

Actually considering doing nothing for awhile...

Hoping I leave in January. The idea of change isn't harder for me as I get older, but the practicalities of it are... retirement, health benefits (knowing we have a child with very high medical costs on an annual basis), starting on a tenure track at 41 years old which is ancient in academia...

Marquette offers free tuition for children of full time faculty or 1/2 tuition at any other Jesuit school. A nice bonus. Also offers 1/2 tuition for spouses. Since UWM is a state school nothing like that there - but the retirement/health benefits are state benefits so quite good.
