With town meeting coming up there is something that has always bothered me about town meeting and wondered how others felt and if there was a solution to it. What I am talking about is when it comes time to vote on something. Usually this is done by a verbal yea or nay.Seems to me that there should be a better, more accurate way of taking a vote rather than seeing which side has the people with the largest lungs.I also wonder how many people are affraid to vote how they really feel if it happens to be against the majority. Let's face it , there is no annonimity , eveyone knows how you voted. How many would feel comfortable voting against a neighbor? Sometimes i see people who dont vote...is it because they dont care or dont want to be part of the unpopular minority? Then you got those who vote yea and nay.I think a more accurate way of doing it would be something like you would see on a game show where the audiance vote by pushing a button. You would get an accurate count ,,no more standing up for recounts,,,no more loud lungs winning out,,,,and privacy. Yes ....I know it would cost money and there are more important things.....its just one of those things that bothers me about the current system and was wondering what others thought.
