Thank you so much for your response, Dennis.
That is how I knew they did the town meetings, but was told it had changed. We were out for lunch after field day last week, and talking to 'someone' sitting there as well. They said that there were many from Lowell and NH that were former residents, but still went to the town meetings. This, of course intrigued me. When I asked how they could vote, I was told that no one checked for current residency or changes in resident status.
I don't know this as a fact, so I would not comment on names mentioned.
I do have another question:
It was brought up on last weeks show about the VP at the Campbell leaving (or forced to leave). Any budget cuts or involvement in the school department budget was denied.
The entire 'buzz' INSIDE of the school system is exactly the opposite. Why would someone lie about this either way.
Let's look at some of the facts:
I know the Brookside has a principal and vice-principal. I believe the other elementary schools do as well. (Am I wrong?)
The ratio of students is around the same (or so I am told) for all elementary schools--EXCEPT for the Campbell. The other schools are 2-300 students. The Campbell has over 600.
The VP of the Campbell school is well loved and respected by staff and parents of the students. She is the organizational leader of that school--taking on responsibilities that the principal doesn't have time for because of the amount of students in that school. She is quoted as 'an extremely devoted employee, who sees the children as her peers, and not simply as children'. She is honored and respected greatly because of the way she treats the parents and children of that school. She organizes many functions that are for the children--including Ice Cream Sundae events and other 'school can be fun' types of activities.
What doesn't make sense is that, we would take a VP from that school--especially with the ratio-difference--and put her in another school that already has enough administrative employees. Something doesn't smell right in Dodge here.
In fear of retaliation for 'treading where others fear to tread', I am skeptical about the story that is being told. The town, including the school employees is skeptical about this story as well. It just makes no sense.
Does someone know how this can be explained, logically? Why take a school that has such a great rating for success, and cause it to take a 180 degree turn, unless there is some issue with the school budget.
Unless, the pay raise that was given to Ms. Espindle has caused the school budget to be condensed in other areas--especially with budget cuts in the state as they are.
I am not trying to cause problems--I just think it is a discussion that should be addressed. (And, yes--I have one child that is currently at the Campbell School--I love it, too). There is going to be a rally amongst the parents that have children attending there. I think others have seen the signs on lawns in the Campbell district.
Before all of the propaganda and such begin--I was wondering what insight, if any you guys had on this issue.
I will patiently wait for your response--while boarding up my windows with bullet-proof material. ;)
