Hi Gill;

I came to this board to see if I could get a conversation going with people that had real conviction and ideas about Awakening. I am not disappointed. Ha.

My comment about becoming “unenlightened” maybe was misleading. I don’t mean that you should not recognize who and what you are and hold that understanding. I mean that you were already that in your first birth. We do not shift to a new reality, a new dimension, we only wake up to what we truly are, and always have been. In that sense, there is no movement to enlightenment. Everybody is already enlightened, they just don’t know it.

Many people equate the discovery of the “Witness” state with enlightenment. A state where everything is non-individuated, non objectified, non relational. They feel they have “gone” somewhere, and intend to stay there. (an enlightened state). Since there is no sense of an object, or a person in this view of things, they drop their idea of being an individual, or try to anyway. This is why I say they need to become “unenlightened”. They need to embrace the personal world of people and things. They need to let go of the idea that enlightenment or being Awakened is anything different that what they already were.

You can say Yes, I know all that, but…. The fact remains that after my second birth, I am different!!! OK, I will compromise and agree by saying you are both different and not different. Two truths.

ZERO.
