Good question. Lots of differences really, but also some similarities.

Off the top of my head here are some:

Catholics believe in a pope, Protestants do not recognise such a leader and their only head of the Church is Christ alone.

Catholics believe that you must be in the "true Church" (i.e. their church) to be fully saved. Protestants say salvation is in Christ alone (John 14.6)

Catholics pray to Mary and the Saints. Protestants view this as idolitary and look to God only.

Catholics have to go to a priest to confess. Protestants go to Christ alone to confess.

Catholics view the communion service as literally becoming the blood and body of Christ. Protestants say it merely symbolozes what Christ did.
