there has been a lot of loose talk around here lately. Not from you. You're always very careful to preface you comments with the principles of good and necessary gun stewardship, but others aren't quite so careful. I don't think that the others are being irresponsible in practice, but in their zealotry they have a tendency to marginalize these important principles. Primarily I ascribe that to youthful exuberance and inexperience. The danger in this is that untempered youth leads to mistakes. It's the fundamental aspect of the learning process. I just don't like the idea of a painful learning curve when it comes to firearms. Hence my objections.

I also like dealing in absolutes and ideologies. That means I am comfortable questioning the use of a tool with many valid and beneficial uses. Again for me it all comes down to the ultimate goal of our society. I rarely hear that question brought up in second amendment debates?
