Like or dislike shouldn't be attached to a tool.

>in the privacy and sanctity of our homes. Why?

Because it's good stewardship. Whether you have children or not.

>Rape, crime, even murder is a terrible thing, but we as adults know and accept the risks we face.

I don't accept those risks, if you mean in the manner Kharn accepts them.

>That's why we mitigate those risks in a real proactive manner.

I mitigate those risks with a firearm (as a last resort).

>Guns don't even figure in on the action plan to keep my family safe. If it comes to the point where a gun is necessary I have failed as a father, husband, and protector.

How so? What about events beyond your control? Felons breaking into your home, public unrest, disruption of government services, crazed French toddlers, etc. ........

All these events or possibilities exist, failing to defend your family in those type of traumatic episodes would make you and your family victims, which is worse than a failure.

Failing to be prepared for that kind of thing would make you ineffective as a father, husband, and protector. It really is that simple.

-----------

Of course we know you carry a handgun, so you've got your shit covered. Unless you keep listening to Kharn.

BTW - What about the other uses for guns? Target, hunting, collecting, investment, etc.????
