Tom;

The only photo-documentation I have seen regarding the use of extra pockets is the Engineer outfit with the 101st during the Normandy drop.

The problem with photo documentation of the 82nd is that there was comparatively little during the operation for security reasons. I can not say for certain that it was not done but without documentation of its widespread use I would not support the idea.

I will say this,...not one of the 505ers at Normandy that were photographed that I have seen seem to have them.

If you want my advice, If its worth anything, I would tell them it would not pass muster for authenticity. One thing you, and I, know for certain is that they had the M-1942 suits on 6 June '44-both modified and unmodified (i.e. reinforced). We can not substantiate the use of extra pockets in the 505th.

If they can substantiate such modifications I would love to have you share it with us.

Sam
