Subject: Lessons on earth?

Itīs been mentioned a lot of times in our posts. We are here to learn something. My question now is: What? What shall we learn?
According to the karma theory we have to get rid of former “sins”, bad behaviour, or relationship struggles. But what if karma actually doesnīt exist? The Tao says nothing about karma, as far as I know.
So if there is no karma, what are we meant to learn? Shall we only re-member our spiritual knowledge? Do we need 950 lives for that? Thatīs what someone found out about me once, with a pendulum. I went through 950 lives already? How dumb am I?*lol*

What do you think you have to learn in this life? And who defined that?

[> hmm What are we here to learn.... I think that we all think too small about these things, that we could not even imagine the grandeur or majestic perfection of the whole dance of life. All we have to go on is what we already know from our experiences, so how could we even begin to imagine the larger realm of possibility? I think that life on earth started out as a pretty simple thing and that as we piled up experiences and karma (cause and effect), that things became ever more complicated until we see the mess we have in the world today. Lots of people are now looking around and wondering how in heavens name we managed to create such a mess, and lots of people are working to bring the world into better balance. So what are we here to learn? That our choices all have consequences and that when we come from a place of balance and heart-centered intelligence, then things work so much better for everyone. All the rest of life is finding this out the hard way. hahahaha -- Lissa, 09:39:52 09/03/03 Wed

[> Strange, all those ??? in my text above! Or is that only on my browser? Anyway, Lissa, I am experiencing a LOT of consequences right now!*lol* Some things I did against the rule "follow your heart". I did not follow it, and now the consequences are, well, messy.*lol* Have to correct that now... -- Martina *off to following her heart*G*, 15:30:49 09/03/03 Wed

[> Well My Love, the Wiccans say that we are here to "experience". So in order for us to continue on the "Spiral Dance" we need to feel/be/endure every possibilty before we can move on. Who was it? Sidhartha said something similar if I recall correctly and The Fella Shirley McLean talked about (I forget his name) said something similar. My thoughts? Why do we try and find meaning behind everything? Why do we need to know "why?" maybe "is" is all we are supposed to experience and "why" was brought on by religion? Maybe we are not here to learn, but to live, to laugh, and to dance. The Tao Te Ching talks about "the dancer becoming the Dance", maybe it is THAT simple and we need only Dance to KNOW! What can we lose? Dance with me Love? -- John Scott, 15:53:47 09/03/03 Wed

[> [> Are you talking to me???? I would LOVE to dance with you! Where? When? How long? Is there a hot tub for after? hahahahahaha Wear your kilt and we can play dress-up. -- Lissa, 16:48:29 09/03/03 Wed

[> Goodness! I'm not sure I can listen to this naughty hot tub talk now. Oh yeah, I guess I can. I'm one of those "Other" people, the pagans who aren't ashamed of their "naughty side" hahahahahahaha. Seriously, I try to look for things I'm supposed to learn in most circumstances. I admit I don't find the answers a heck of a lot of the time which probably means maybe there isn't something to learn for EVERY circumstance. I'm not sure if I agree that we are just supposed to BE. Maybe I ask why too much. How do we know if there's something to learn or not if we don't look for the why? Would we learn or discover anything new if we never asked "why"? -- Lori, 18:34:01 09/03/03 Wed

[> Another question, so if we're possibly here to just feel/be/endure every possibility before we move on, if we don't feel/be/endure everything in one lifetime, does that mean we have to keep living more lives until we HAVE felt/been/endured it all? (Not picking on you JS, your comment just raised other possibilities in my little pea-brain hahahahaha). Also, just how many lifetimes does it take to do this? What happenes when we do get to that point? Do we stop having lifetimes? I know I ask too many questions. Because I want to "learn more". Hahahaha I crave learning, wanting to know the why's of things. It fascinates me to be able to ask questions - even if I'll never know the answers. So in that case, is curiosity or wanting to find the answers to things part of being or am I just making things more complicated and I should just shut up and dance...? -- L. again, 18:56:01 09/03/03 Wed

[> [> You know, I was thinking that too. Isnīt there a saying in the bible? I only know it in German, roughly translated it would be like: blessed are the not so bright! It means we shouldnīt analyse and think too much, just donīt worry and be happy. :) Thatīs nothing for me though, I always had to think lots.*lol* -- Martina *who normally doesnīt quote the bible, but some truth is in the book, no doubt!*, 03:56:45 09/04/03 Thu

[> [> [> Martina, I wonder if this is what my husband means when he says affectionately...or sometimes in irritation. *G*....You think too much. lmao! Well, the truth of it is that I worry too much but I am learning. :) I wish I had some good insights into your question but I'm struggling along here in the dark as well, it's very interesting to see what others have said about it. -- Linda, 15:52:54 09/04/03 Thu

[> I don't know if the "something" we are here to supposedly learn exists in the singular. I think there are many things we are here to learn. Perhaps people are all looking for this great, profound "thing" that they are supposed to learn, and they are missing out on all the wonderful learning experiences taking place all the time. Learning to love, learning to appreciate, learning to respect, learning to tolerate,...I could go on. Life itself is a learning experience, perhaps the "thing"we are here to learn is simply all the knowledge that is aquired in experiencing life. -- Brenda, 01:23:49 09/04/03 Thu

[> AH! The human experience! Ever since we evolved into having a consciousness, we have been asking WHY!? Why does the sun rise? What are the stars? Why am I here? Who am I? Where did we all come from? It is human nature to ask why ====> please come inside I went too long -- Jeannine, 01:43:03 09/05/03 Fri

. There are as many outlooks as there are religions and I dont have any answers to satisfy everyone! I do feel that we must love ourselves as we are. Though to better ourselves, become closer to our Godliness is the ultimate goal. We chose to leave god, to experience all that a mortal life has to offer. I think we get bogged down with those emotions and traits like power, greed, and we change our society as we behave. I do think there is Karma, but do I know the rules? NO! To BE is also I think part acceptance of ourselves, and part we can "see" our godliness and try to work toward that. Like I posted a while ago, should we live our lives full of emotion and be part of society. Or should we all go off into the wilderness and become hermits, to deny all we feel and our bodily needs to BE a clear vessel for God?....we all do what we can, some better than others! THose that do really well being themselves, and working to be a better person are suppose to be highly evolved spiritually. I`m not sure about that either. I dont know how many lives it takes to be all we can be. Silvia Browne thinks this is her last life! When I look at her I do not see a perfect person...was she a perfect mom? does she love herslef? She helps people and has become rich...but I dont think she is the highly evolved person she does! But what do I know??!!
Martina, maybe you havent lived that many lives, or maybe you lived them in other planes of existance like in Destiny of Souls. I dont think that has anything to do with being dumb, maybe it means you love to learn!
I too love to learn...
The Indigos and Crystal children are supposedly here to teach and reshape the human existance. I have been told my DD will be in the forefront of this! Why did she chose me to be a child with? I was told cuz I have stuff to teach her and she has stuff to teach me! So we are in this journey together!!

[> [> I disagree with "we chose to leave God", because there is no separation of him. We are God! Many have said that this is our biggest mistake, to think we are separate from God. Otherīs think itīs blasphemy to say that. But thatīs an entire new subject I guess.*g* -- Martina, 05:45:01 09/05/03 Fri

[> [> [> well, true, but I read this in a book once, about how demons were formed...notthat I believe in demons, that when we ...separated? from the light and chose to go our own way to learn, the demons were so lost without the god love/light that they felt within the collective, that they experienced anger and evil, and couldnt get out of it. They soared around the universe all pissed off and making trouble. I will look for that book and re read that part, it was very interesting. The others that could survive, came to the earth to be human and learn...I do think there had to be some kind of separation but that yes we are all god inside, all little bits of a whole -- Jeannine, 02:08:07 09/06/03 Sat
