Subject: Something strange this way comes...

Something strange came up and I wanted to run it past some LOLers to see if they have ever experienced this. I took some digital photos at my sister-in-law's baby shower and when I downloaded and printed them out I could see several Orbs in the photos. Out of 30 pictures taken, seven of the photos had very visible Orbs in them. Three photos of Lisa (my DSIL) had them around her. Three photos of the entire room had them in them (we rented a conference room because of the number of people who came) and Orbs were in a photo of my brother, SIL and 4 yr old nephew. Lisa is expecting twins due by c-section on April 16. There were two other pregnant ladies in attendance. I know there is a controversy over whether Orbs are spiritual energy or false readings of these, but I thought it was strange that so many showed up in different areas of the room. I haven't mentioned this to Lisa, though she does have copies of the photos. I am interested in what some of you think of this phenomenon. I should mention that neither my DB or DSIL are particularly spiritual or open to outworldly events.

They are roughly globular fogs of light in odd places in the picture, sometimes as you say with defined features. Gives me a bit of a shiver that there were so many in this batch of photographs. [> I've read a few opinions of Orbs on the net. Some say that all spirits (including humans) put out energy fields and that can sometimes be captured on film. Some say it's just dust motes near the lens. Normally I wouldn't have thought much about Orbs if there weren't so many photos with them in it. In one of my SIL there are three next to her in three different sizes. I will try to post that picture if I can. [> once on a trip when the kids were little we took a tour of the jack daniels distillery in tennessee. they have a spring there, the original one they used when they first started making that elixir of life, and we took pics (film, not digital) of the kids standing in it. a few, not all, came back with an orb (white globe) shining from inside the spring, which was in a small cavelike structure. very interesting. i thought perhaps it was a light hanging from the ceiling of the cave, but it didn't show up on all the pics. have no clue what it was, but it was intriguing. -- annieo, 22:47:09 03/31/04 Wed

My guess would be that it's a light reflection coming off of the wrapping or balloons or something. Rain drops and snow flakes look really cool in digital pictures too. Once your eye focuses on the larger orb image, slowly lower your line of vision and look at the whole image as a whole.
