Good Morning all!!!!!!!!

Aramathea is a Hoser who is living in Japan at the moment. She has posted a question over on the Social Board about past lives. She's presently reading James Long's Ferney and finds the topic of past lives verra interesting. I've encouraged her to come and poast over here. I'd love a discussion on past lives-seems a long time since we've discussed this.

[> Oh, my name precedes me! :) Hi Keira, I remembered someone mentioning on a chat not long ago that they had read Ferney but couldn't remember who. It's the first book in a long time that I haven't been able to put down.>>> -- Aramathea, 22:47:55 05/08/04 Sat

I read 150 pages in bed this morning before my stomach started grumbling, and I bet I'll finish it today. I think it's a combination of the excellent writing style and the subject matter. I haven't read through the Spirit World board yet but I appreciate your recommendation. I'm not in a mood now to go into my own personal beliefs (want to get back to my book!) and they're not set in stone anyway, but I'm certain there has never been a moment since I was very young that I haven't believed in a closer, more interpersonal spiritual world than what's laid out in religious texts. I'll be interested to hear what other people around here think.

[> My experiences inside>>>> -- Martina, 03:58:02 05/10/04 Mon

I'm on and off believing it. It just doesn't match with the beliefs we have been taught in "this life." But there were some spooky things in my life that should convince me.*g*

When my DD just learned speaking and was already pretty good at it, but she couldn't even walk alone yet, she sat in the back of the car and started singing along with the radio. We giggled because it was so cute. She stopped singing and said in a very serious tone: "When I was still a man, I could sing much better."
I got goose bumps. She never mentioned something like that again, and was too small back then to answer our nosy questions.

When my nephew started speaking he always told us stories of "the moon", where he lived before. He could remember his parents there, and told us the cars didn't stink.*lol*

I once had a regression. It took me back until I saw myself in an ancient dress, walking slowly around a long dinner table. I remember touching the chairs, trying to get a hold on them as I fell to the floor. The therapist asked me to go into the feeling part of it, and then I noticed I couldn' t breathe. I was choking! And I felt it like it happened again! The therapist talked me out of there and asked if I knew why that happened. I said I don't know for what reason, but I know I was poisoned and died right there. I was a young dark haired women. I was too creeped out to go back there and find out the why and where. But it was an explanation for me as to why I can't bear anything around my neck, and why I came close to choking in THIS life twice already. I did another method to get rid of that heritage from a past life. Never had problems with breathing again after that.

I'm also sure, IF past lives exist*g*, that I had one as an American Indian. There are many hints for that in my life.

My ex-husband always dealed with overweight. He did a regression too, and it took him back to ancient Rome, where he was a skinny guy and a bunch of people stuffed him with food and wine until he puked, over and over again. He seemed to have carried an unhealthy eating pattern over to this life, created by that trauma. Like, "if I was already fat, they'd leave me alone", or something like that.*g*

It's certainly a very interesting subject! Does anybody have more examples?

My Mom also had regressions but I don't remember what she experienced. It was pretty amazing though, and gave her many answers regarding her current life. Only one thing I remember. She saw herself starving to death, holding her 2 kids in her arms, remembering how helpless she felt not being able to feed the kids. Those 2 kids were me and my sister in this life. This may explain that Mom always feared we don't have enough to eat.*g*

[> [> Martina, I hate having anything rubbed across my throat. It makes me wonder if something happened to me at some point. Also, I hate having my arms pinned and not being able to move them. I have never done a regression but it would not surprise me to find that something, sometime, caused for me to feel this way. Welcome to SW Aramathea! -- Brenda, 19:55:22 05/10/04 Mon

[> I have not had a regression done, but I do have a strong feeling that I must have been a healer in my past life where I was not allowed to practice legally. I must have felt threatened in some way. I know two people who are very insightful. Although they do not know each other, both of these people have made comments to me about practicing my "healing" safely in this lifetime. Interesting to say the least. I also absolutely HATE having anything around my neck, can't even stand Dave's hands near my throat-gives me shivers just writing about it. Perhaps I was beheaded or strangled. Would be interesting to have a regression done. -- Keira, 20:27:21 05/10/04 Mon

[> Instant attraction>>> -- Aramathea, 21:10:04 05/10/04 Mon

When I lived in Nova Scotia I worked with a woman who sold antique jewelry. We had a traveling booth that we set up at antiques shows and craft fairs. During one show, our booth was next to a display for the local charity for the blind. There was a blind man there, in his early thirties maybe and walked with a slight limp, and when I saw him I felt attracted to him both physically and emotionally. I was sure I recognized him, though I had only been in Halifax for a year and lived in Japan up until then. I kept sneaking glances over at him, and noticed he was doing the same thing -- interesting, considering he was blind! But he kept turning his head toward me as I set up the booth, even though he hadn't heard me speak. It was around mid-day that he finally walked over to the booth, walked right up to me and said hello. We made small talk but regrettably I never even asked his name. If I hadn't been newly married I certainly would have asked to meet him again.

Aside from that I don't think I've had any experiences of possible past life connections, except a love of England since childhood (I went on to specialize in medieval England in university). I have had numerous experiences of seeing the future. One of these was a dream I had when I was three years old. I remember my dreams every night and this one was extremely vivid and colorful. I wasn't able to wake myself up. In it I saw myself as an adult wearing a business suit. I was in an office room. There was one long table surrounded by chairs and a picture window with a view of city lights at night. Business men in suits sat in some of the chairs. I wasn't doing anything in the dream, just standing...

When I was twenty I first started teaching English in Japan. My first job was at a small school and I usually had classes of 3 or 4 housewives. One night, and only one, the teacher who usually taught the company classes fell sick and I was asked to go to a nearby office building to take over for the night. As soon as I entered the room I knew exactly where I was. I had waited 17 years for that dream to come true. :)

[> Hi all! Caught this discussion on the Social Board and decided to jump over here to see what others had to say on the subject. I've never had a regression done, but here are my "experiences">>> -- Christina V., 12:35:47 05/12/04 Wed

I say "experiences" because I can't really say definitively that I feel I have lived before, but have had weird experiences. To begin, I collect and read books like crazy. One of my favourite series is Colleen McCullough's "Rome" series, but I have been unable to finish it. Why, you ask? Because when Julius Caesar is married to his third wife and still continues to cheat on her I get very upset. I had to quit reading the books because I would get too irritated, frustrated, and sad, and that would ruin my whole day--I couldn't stop thinking about it. This is the first time I can think of that I have never been able to finish a book, and for such a reason--not because it is boring, but because the main character is a cad.

I also love ancient Egypt before the Roman invasion (have two tattoos of ancient Egyptian symbols) and read alot about the pharaohs Ramses, Seti, Hatsepshut (queen-pharaoh) when i was around 10. Love ancient Rome until Julius Caesar (see above), and love ancient Greece. Never had to study for these tests in school--felt like I knew it all already.

I took 6 weeks of French when I was 11 yrs old, after school. I can't speak very well, but I can read it--and we spent the 6 weeks learning how to insult our siblings, not how to read a book. When I first arrived in Paris, I felt like I was home. So specific event happened, I didn't see anything that struck me a certain way, just a feeling of being where I was content and loved--I was home.

Lastly, I didn't visit the UK until 2 yrs ago, but my whole life I have been writing in an "English" style: favOURite instead of favORite, neighbOUR instead of neighbOR, etc. Used to drive my teachers nuts. I grew up in Iowa, still live here, my parents have never visited England, neither have my grandparents--only 2 great aunts on my mother's side, and they stopped going when I was very young. So where did that come from?

So, where in the Yellow Pages does someone look to find a person to do a past life regression? :)

[> [> Haha, that's all very interesting. You mentioned things I hadn't even thought about. Like the passion for ancient Egypt, I have that too. Regression therapists actually are in our yellow pages in Germany.*g* Mostly they are homeopaths that did some courses on it. I could also find them in Reiki-centres and any 'new age' group over here. -- Martina, 13:51:23 05/12/04 Wed

[> Well, not sure about past lives......but I do have strange experiences/dreams/coincidences that happen from time to time. >>> -- Colly, 16:13:04 05/12/04 Wed

When I first went to the Open House to look at my (current) house, I walked up the stairs to look at the bedrooms and smelled that "old house" smell....don't know any other way to describe it but my mom's house smelled that way when we moved in and a friends house had the same smell. anyway, it smelled like home and I knew it was "my" house. I made a ridiculously low offer and next thing I knew it was mine for real!
I have had dreams that came true....including a dream about working in a different body shop, than the one I was currently working in at the time. I remember telling my boss about the dream even....how there were two men in the office and one of them didn't really like me and the other one didn't let me do any work. I could remember the face of one of them and how the office looked. About 8 months later I lost that job and while out running some errands the next week passed by a smaller shop and stopped in to see if they were taking applications. I got the job on the spot and a few weeks after I started working there remembered my dream....the face I remembered was that of the Manager, and he was not real fond of women and was kind of mean to me. The office was the same and the owner, was the other man in my dream and all the time I worked there, he never really had much for me to do, any time I tried to find work, he told me it wasn't necessary.
I also had a dream where one of my friends was crying and crying and I couldn't get her to stop, and I knew in my dream that her grandmother had died. A few days later I saw her husband and he told me that she wasn't doing too well, was having a hard time. I asked if her grandmother had died and he looked surprised but said yes....the same night I had the dream. I knew before she did.
One night, I woke up out of a sound sleep, sat straight up in bed in a panic, wanting to call my friend Ed. It was around 11:30 and too late to call him, it took me a while to calm down and get back to sleep. The next day he called me and told me that while he was driving back home from a wrecker call (he owns a towing company) a car came up along side of his truck on the highway, and when he looked over the man had a gun pointed at him. He tried to get away, and the man did shoot at him and chased him for about a half hour before he disappeared, around the same time the police caught up to them. When I asked him what time this occured he said around 11:30.
Other than that, I do the phone and email thing, where I know before the phone rings that a certain person is going to call. Just monday morning, I was having breakfast and had the sudden urge to go check my email (I checked the clock)...I just knew there was an email from my friend in Scotland. I had to get to work though, and when I got to work and went to go online, I had problems with the service provider and spent an hour reinstalling the program. When I did get online, sure enough, there was an email, asking if I was around, because he wanted to chat, that had come in at the exact time I was eating breakfast.
As far as past lives....I do have an intense interest in certain periods of history....France from Louis XIV to Marie Antoinette and the Revolution. Scotland, American Civil War, etc. I would like to have a past life regression someday as it really interests me.

[> [> In reference to your house experience, I have a passion for and a longing for a bungalow. I feel that I just must have one before I die. I have only been in one once, an acquaintance of my parents' many years ago for just a few minutes, but I had an inexplicable feeling that I was home and safe. Bungalows are the total opposite of the feelings I described in my first post above - the ultimate safety. If I had one before, that would place me in the early part of the 20th century sometime in a former life, which would also mesh with my passion for Art Deco. I even dream in Art Deco. -- beccabee, 02:48:22 05/13/04 Thu

[> I remembered another one. On about 5 or 6 different occasions I've had people either ask me or assume that I play the harp. Once a new acquaintance actually introduced me to her friend as a harpist! I have no real interest in harps and have never even touched one before. -- Aramathea, 20:45:54 05/12/04 Wed
