Subject: hi! Don't know if anyone is reading down this far..I just popped by and..I always put sugar in the water for the tree..it's supposed to help keep the tree fresher longer. I have no idea if it helps or not, never wanted to experiment. The tree just sucks back that glucose water! ;)

I never made it because whenever we had a real tree, it fell over every year (despite valiant efforts by the DH to ensure it was stable) spilling water all over the carpet.
