Thank you... for the thoughts and words.....

Well, it's been 36 hours since the injection and starting him on the pred. He is not very hungry in the morning... but at the evening meal time he wolfs his food down. His thirst is just becoming evident. Pat and I have been taking him out with the help of slings to support his rear weight at 10 pm, then getting up at 2 am to do the same... and then again at 6 am. So far, no accidnets in the house. I have been going home from work mid-morning to help her with him.

He wants so bad to get up and get around... and as the swelling in the left rear leg is starting to subside, I'm sure the pain of touching the paw to the ground is reducing also. I check two points on his lower leg with a tape measure to gauge how the circumference from the swelling is decreasing. It is slow, but is is happening. That is GOOD.

Gabe and Sera are a bit freaked as they don't understand what is going on...... and they are constantly getting in the way when we are trying to move with Zack.....

Zack is having the slight shakes and heavy fast breathing sometimes associated with prednisone. It comes and goes. Pat confirmed that with the vet.

I "walked" him in the main yard yesterday afternoon for about 15 minutes. Sometimes a light support with the slings, sometimes a lot of support ....

Just seeing where this takes us.
