>Yeah, that whole message was incredibly lame. Anyone

>Heywood does not have a huge ego...he doesn't ask for
>people's adoration, and he quite often tactfully
>ignores it when he gets it.

Exactly. What I'd like to know is how and why we're accused of being fangirls when in actuality people spend more time discussing badfic (which is presumably what we're here to do) than complimenting Heywood. Perhaps agreeing with some of his opinions regarding badfic = stroking his ego in some fucked-up person's eyes.

He's just a cool person.
>There are many cool people on this forum, and just to
>mention a few, Snorkle and Tilly and King Doom and
>Wandering Namek and Mimi and Ayezur, plus tons more.

True

>Heywood just has this ability to stand out because of
>his...unique offerings and other characteristics. This
>is not to say that plenty of other people don't also
>stand out. We have a lot of really awesome posters on
>this forum, and they all deserve respect, not just
>Heywood.

Again, True.

Anyone who spent a decent amount of time here
>would understand that and would know that Heywood does
>not invite all that attention nor attempt to
>monopolize it.

I've been a regular of this forum on and off for around 3 years. I cannot say that I've personally noticed that anyone is paying any more attention to Heywood than any other regular. He may have at some point been getting more attention, but I base that only on the number of posts that he makes at times. In other words, the ratio of posts made to responses to his posts are the same as everyone elses. Also as far as I can tell, he has never attempted to monopolise the board, unless of course loads of posts counts as monopolisation. We don't have any rules concerning how many posts we're allowed to do because such a rule would be absurd and counter-productive if the regulars have something important or interesting to say.

>I don't think this is an MKIceman sockpuppet. The
>writing style is very different. The sentiments
>expressed are similar to MKIceman's, but at most I
>would guess that the board poster Superfly referred
>to, who left, was MKIceman. Don't know though, because
>Superfly referred to this poster as female, and
>MKIceman is pretty openly male, so that'd only be true
>if Superfly were obtuse and oblivious to the
>obvious...which is a distinct possibility.

I don't see the point in sock-puppetry, and I certainly cannot see any self-respecting regular of this forum engaging in such a sad and pointless activity.

>Who really cares, though...WE know the quality of
>people who post on GAFF. We don't need to worry about
>some idiot who only knows what he heard from someone
>else who used to post here.

What I would like to know is, what is the name of this so-called ex-regular? We have no positive proof that anyone said anything at all regarding leaving GAFF because of fangirlish behavior.

If you ask me the whole thing is just so childish. It's a lame and idiotic attempt to explain why we were kicked off InvisionFree. WE UNKNOWINGLY VOILATED THE TOS, END OF FUCKING STORY. Our being banned from there has NOTHING to do with Heywood, or fangirls at all. We were barred for porviding the URLs to NC-17 rated stories.

Ok, end of rant. I thought I'd better try and set a few points straight before everyone points the finger at everyone else. To be honest, I've never known a GAFFer or ex-GAFFer to attept to stir up shit. In fact in the past we've avoided it like the plague. Classic examples for those who were hear a couple of years back:

1. Emergency! badfic - Anyone remember the story 'Disbelief'? The author was pissed bacause we'd passed comment on her story without her permission. Did we kick up a stink because she disagreed with her? NO. Did we invent sock-puppets and agree with ourselves? NO. Did we in any way make inflamatory remarks? NO.

2. Zelda Badfic - 'My Inner Life'. The Author came in all pissed because we were discussing her story and even brought her private flamewar with Tilly with her. Did we handle the situation by flaming her out? NO. Did we pat each other on the back for making comments about the story? NO.

IN SHORT DO WE ALWAYS HAVE TO AGREE WITH EACH OTHER AND BECOME EACH OTHER'S FANGIRLS? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Variety is the spice of life, it is the different opinions and views expressed on a forum that makes it worthwhile. If everyone was behaving in a fangirlish way then there would be no point in having a forum at all. There wopuld be no point in everyone agreeing with everyone else all the time, there would be no debates or sensible discussions.

I know that the two (almost ancient) examples I used above are not exactly the same as the current situation with Heywood and this troll who is spreading things about him. Yet I feel that they serve as invaluable evidence that we are not fangirls.

I rest my case GAFFers do not create, support or continue with flaming or fangirl behavior.

Sorry this post is so long, but I hate seeing people jumping to the wrong conclusion about us because a few trolls have it in for us.

PS. Where is Heywood anyway?
