1. "disgruntled person":
I believe you refer to me.

2. "sniping for months ... without once trying to start an honest conversation":
I started an honest conversation in the "Ho!mione gets raped" thread on the InvisionFree board. I started and participated in honest conversations in the "Why, God, Why?" and "Gabbery" sections of that board. I did not "snipe" at anyone, for, as is evident by my posts there and here, I am not afraid to speak my mind; if I had wanted to attack someone, I would have (which I did here).

3. "choosing a time of vulnerability":
I respond to points as I see them. The first point I saw that I responded to was the wailing over the loss of the InvisionFree board.

4. "to attack that board member and others":
It was a discussion about a "troll" and flames in general. It involved the hype around one particular member's ability to flame, and that is when I attacked the creators of that hype (i.e., the obsessed fans), not the target of that hype (i.e., the board member). Afterwards, that board member took offense and attacked me, so I returned the favor.

5. "and try to force GAFF into his own mold":
This board is not GAFF. That is the point I was trying to make after that hissy fit. I proceeded to criticize the most vocal group of GAFF fans. In addition to Catseye's discussion on it and her neat summary of GAFF's "manifesto," I outlined what GAFF was and is, in case there are those who want to make the board a better representation of GAFF.

6. "people respond much better to a friend's persuasion than a hostile's attack":
Indeed. I wonder why there was less of a response to the persuasion on the InvisionFree board than there is here.
