There are three reasons your theory, while interesting, is unlikely to be the answer.

First, Invisionfree wrote Heywood, and said it *was* the adult content.

Second, if it was Anne Rice or her minions, they'd be much more likely to go after the fan-fic author or fan-fic host site than us. Certainly they wouldn't go after us and *not* the fan-fic.

And third and most interesting (well, more interesting than the latest troll anyway), is that I've actually seen a celebrity and their lawyer shut down a group of crackpots while I watched (trolled). It went down VERY differently than our no-warning, no-explanation shutdown. In that case the webmaster stated over and over again that he'd heard from some attorneys, and that the crackpots were posting stuff that was dangerous to the welfare of his site, and that he wanted the crackpots out of there, and that he was deleting everything they'd ever posted, and would keep deleting anything new, etc. And still the crackpots didn't get the message...

Which is why I've never been one to simply report TOS violations, because if you just report and get something yanked, the TOS violator never finds out why and never learns from their mistakes. And if it were a celebrity or his/her lawyer behind this... they'd probably WANT us to learn from our mistakes.
