Apologies for double-posting, but I think it's certain to get lost in that massive thread.

To be really specific about the amusement, it's just the disapopintment and irony of how GAFF turned out. It used to be "GodAwful FanFiction." Now it's "Group of Avid Fangirls and Fanboys," or "Group Angst, Fickle Fangirlism." No, I'm not speaking of every single participant of the GAFF fora, but I am referring to the loudest sentiment expressed within the GAFF fora (which may not necessarily reflect the majority, but it's still what's heard and seen above all else). And when someone -- I -- speaks out about the hypocrisy, he gets attacked in fangirl fashion. No, most of the criticisms were well developed and addressed specific points, but most of them missed the overall point entirely, and only served to prove my point.

So, I'll echo what Long Time Lurker (and I recognize the e-mail address! interesting to see you again) said: it's just a board. I'm not obsessed with this, so I'm just leaving it at that.

Just wanted to leave with a clearer statement expressing my opinion of the hypocrisy rampant these days (i.e., GAFF turning into its enemy), and a sincere apology to those caught in the cross-fire (namely, the lurkers and those looking for true GAFF, not all the wangst shown in this recent fangirlism). To the lurkers, oldie GAFFers, and newbie GAFFers alike, you have my hope.
