Just wanted to spurt that out, seeing as how it got back to me that over at ole FW someone pulled that out of their ass. And, oddly, the one gal who actually *began* the whole LQ thing and was with it till recently (usually anonymously, though,) damn near agreed, with a "yeah, but at least *I* knew when it stopped being funny." Uhh, yeah.

Aye caramba.

Can someone please explain to me the big deal about fandom wank, and why some people get all worked up over it? I've visted there, and to me it looks like a version of this board gone *really* bad. Someone posts a link to what they call "wank" (and sometimes it's just people having strong opinions...what, those are bad now? I thought *wishywashy* was bad!) and then about 300 posts come after it, all along the lines of "OMG yes that is sooo wanky." "It is teh wank is it not?" "OMFG look it was sooo wanky I made an ICON out of it!" "Ooooh icon love!" And so on.

I must be getting old or something, because I don't get it. ^_^
