Subject: WTF is up with the eyes thing? (RANT ALERT!)

"large almond shaped eyes that were a deep sea green with small flecks of gold in them."

Okay I have no idea what those colors are, but I'm guessing you'd have to look really disgustingly close to see the gold. If it's not important than why, why, WHY do these freaking Sue authors put them in? It would be like me saying my char, Tonkeshin, has three raised moles on his left ass-cheek. I can understand such a thing being discovered by someone grabbing his BARE butt. But(heh, butt?), I just don't understand why Suvians insist on the unimportant details.

Besides, if the gold flecks are as big as braille dots, her eyes must look friggin weird!

Sorry for the rant. It's just that stupid details like that really piss me off. If it isn't necessary for the story then leave it out.

In my fics there aren't hardly any major descriptions of anybody. You only know that Tonkeshin is tall and lean. You know Greg is overweight. You know that Carol is the gorgeous Mary Sueish bitch who doesn't get the man she wants(yes I made her pretty on purpose just to make fun of Suvians. The real person who inspired the conflict was. . .not too attractive to my nose or my ears).

Then again, most Sue authors seem to tell us what the Sue looks like, her tragic past and gives away all her personality right at the beginning. So what's there to keep the reader interested? Since we KNOW how she reacts to things then it's easy to predict how she'll handle a situation - PERFECTLY. *eyeroll* I think a story is much more fun if a character is introduced slowly throughout the tale. You learn by "watching" rather than having it forced down your throat.

Okay, I'm done. *wanders off.*
