Subject: Some few minor things that just couldn't fit in my long-arse post above...
In reply to: sore-eyed and headache-y Doyle 's message, "Re: good deal? What deal? Anyways, here's my some of my thoughts on ROTK **spoileriffic**" on 05:45:20 01/04/04 Sun

You've made it known to me that Sam was your fav character. How you particularly felt for him in TTT (while I was busy off feeling sorry for Gollum who was only *pretending* to be in pain;) and while his nearly drowing just to follow Frodo at the end of FOTR was a slight teary moment for me, I was not again feeling for Sam in particular until this movie when Frodo told him to, "Go home, Sam." The poor bastard. I dare anyone to not have been even slightly peeved at Frodo at that point (yes, even tho he was under the influence of the Ring and Gollum's lies). It truly showed Sam's loyalty. Tho he was actually doing as Frodo told to begin with (?). Well, he was climbing back down the stairs until he found the bread Gollum had tossed down there. I wonder, if he hadn't found it whether he would have left or what?

Also, it was a heroic moment for Sam (in particular, anyways) when he came to Frodo's rescue from Shelob the spider. It was all very nice to see him make the big ugly back off and such but was it really wise of him to leave Frodo wrapped up in spiderweb for the orcs who happened by? Anyways, it worked out to his advantage. Was I the only one who thought Frodo looked kinda gothic with what looked like black eyeshadow when he was in the webbing?

And why was Sean Bean credited at the end of the movie (complete with sketch of him) when I thought the only part he appeared in in ROTK was the flashback to him getting shot with the arrows from FOTR. Now, isn't that old footage? Why would they credit him like he was actually acting *in* the third film? Anyways, no big.

I thought I saw somewhere in a preview for what I thought was for ROTK a scene involving Legolas and Gimli in a tavern/bar/whatever and Legolas says something like, "What exactly is the point of all this?" and Gimli explains whoever is left standing wins. And Legolas replies, "So it's like a game?" (or something like that). And what they're referring to is a drinking game. Drinking *aclohol* type game (is there any other?). Now, I'd thought this was gonna be in ROTK somewhere but it wasn't. From that little bit of a preview it sounded like it would've been an amusing scene 'cause hey, Legolas might've gotten drunk (wouldn't that have been funny?) Can elves even get drunk? Also, I would have liked to have seen what happened with Saruman but hey, PJ obviously thought there wasn't enough time for it - so be it. I won't be getting the dvd, only the vhs when it comes out so I won't get to see whatever scenes with him were cut. But it's not that important really. No doubt there's more stuff I've forgotten but it's late, I'm tired, and I don't want to play games;) G'night
