Further to the ramblings about the scum which followed the Roy Keane story (and good on yer Mick McCarthy, by the way - the bottom line is that if any other player had done what Keane did, they'd be sent home), Alex Ferguson has today explained why Manchester United won nothing last season.

It was because of their pre-season tour last July to the Far East.

Talk about clutching at straws.

But, with the rags board having already identified the Far East as the key to their growth plans (a deal signed only last week with Lycos for a Chinese language website), will Taggart be forced to eat humble pie and tour there again to satisfy the money men who pay his grossly inflated wages?
