Subject: I watched McManaman play central for Real Madrid in a match where he won some trophy just last week. Not a major game or anything.
In reply to: tactics 's message, "Oh aye....lazy twat Macmanaman as a central midfield general. Do you not watch a lot of football? It'll be a 3 man midfield of Beckham, Butt and Heskey in the opening game. Fitness permitting. Thats the formatiomn he's used before and its the formation he's used in training." on 10:50:34 05/21/02 Tue

[> [> [> [> [> In fairness, McManaman was right midfield when he came on last week. Tactics, there is no way Heskey will play any part in a 3 man midfield. If we go three man, it would currently be Beckham, Scholes and Butt with Owen, Heskey and Sheringham/Vassell up front. CTW, anyone who goes to play in the SPL should be automatically excluded from consideration, with names such as Rod Wallace, John Hartson, Chris Sutton and Mark Hately cited as examples of players who have hardly set the English game alight but have been "fantastic" up there -- Jelly, 11:05:47 05/21/02 Tue (155.192.33.21)

[> [> [> [> [> [> Heskey has been playing on the left for Ericson and has done well. If Dyer isn't fit Heskey will play there. He's used this formation in numerous games recently. But yeah I meant Scholes and Beckham not Butt and Beckham. Depends on injury though. -- tactics, 11:29:01 05/21/02 Tue (195.53.49.197)
