If you are over the age of 14 and want to just race for fun, why don't you race in the Multi class? That way you don't have to buy restrictor plates or NMMA stamped tires. I think a temporary membership is $35 per night, so if you race three times you would have spent more money on temporary memberships than you would for a real membership. If you want to race in the restrictor class, you might check with someone who ran in that class last year but moved up this year. Maybe they still have their plates and would let you borrow them until you can get your own set. Lots of people have stamped right rears that they are not using but still have some life left in them. You could probably get some pretty cheap used ones to run for now.
