The Money ain't there for the purse these guys are wanting!!! Where Do You think the purse money comes from? Unlike some tracks where You buy your pit pass at the gate and then pay an aditional enty fee which is paid back as the purse money and 1/2 or less of the field is paid. (I have Checks where I was paid $10.00 for 10th place with a full field!! and paid a$50.00 entry fee.
The purse is based on the number of cars and the the hope that each one of those cars will generate an average of 2 or more pitpasses. The Driver who shows up and has more than one care or wants to race in more than one class may not be contrubiting as much to the over all purse as the driver who only races one car. The more classes you add the further the money has to be streched and the smaller the purse for each class. Bottom line is that Race tracks are a business and thay have to make money if they don't we who have racecars will loose in the end!
