For those HOLAS folks that know Peggy,I got a message in my pogo mail from a friend of Pegs. She said that Peg had had a massive heart attack last week. She was in intensive care, but the family has discontinued life support and they put her in a room out of intensive care and are just trying to keep her comfortable. If anyone knows more about this please post. Thank you.

Okay...My 9 1/2 month old daughter has laryngitis, so I'm going to try this. She's on an iron suppliment, so I don't want to give her too much of something [medicine wise]. I've made a bottle, but she still hasn't taken in. I'm going to give it a go...hope if works. I feel so bad for her.

I just got a call from my son. His wife miscarried their son a couple of hours ago. He called from his cellphone on the way to the hospital. He was working out of town today so he wasn't there when it happened so didn't know any details other than that when she went in for a routine checkup this afternoon and the doctor could not find the heartbeat. The baby wasn't due until about Aug. 29th or perhaps a week earlier. Please pray for them, if you would. Bill's taking it really hard; he was crying hard while driving up the road as he talked to me on the phone, and he still had about 25 miles to go to get to the hospital when he talked to me. He said he'd call me later after he finds out more.

Hello Everyone,
I know, it has been quite awhile since I have stopped in. I just hate always sharing bad news and asking for more prayers.. but I am once again. This is the place for miracles to happen... with the help of everyone's prayers here, and another miracle is really needed here.
This is more prayers for Bryan and his family...the good news is he does have his children back. The bad news is that he lost his job. He was working in a factory, and was called to work for the post office... and then the courts made the children go back to their mom in August after 10 year old Chelsie writes a letter willing to give anyone her dad's purple heart if they would help them not go back to "their bad life where bad things happen". Bryan didn't have any say so when abuse allegations were made while he was in Iraq and he had no rights when he returned from serving his country.

Because of jurisdiction, the kids are returned to be abused a little bit more and finally child protective services took them away from their mom and called Bryan to come get them, he tells work and drives from Northeast Ohio to new Orleans area and gets them. He has to return for the hearing that work new about before he started and 4 days before he has his 90 days in he is let go from the post office.. just a few weeks before Christmas. Three of the four kids still believe in Santa. I just don't know how we are going to pull this one off. (The divorce is finally over and Bryan is the "domicile" parent... and the courts say they have to go spend holidays with her and the summer also, but it is looking like mom can't get here to get them for this Christmas... I am afraid to say that to loud, afraid I will jinx it)
I am asking that you please pray that things finally start working out for all of them. I know the important thing is that the kids are back with him and I am so happy about that, but how much more does he have to endure before he can just relax and enjoy life a little. Please pray that he gets his job back (many feel he was unjustly let go and they are fighting to get him reinstated, but he is told it could take a couple of years.)
Thank you everyone.. and know that I am always holding you all close in my heart and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I apologize for being so down and don't mean to bring anyone else down either. I love you all and I am wishing you all a wonderful holiday season.

She's been in a nursing home for a couple of years I guess, with several problems including her heart, arthritis and Parkinson's disease. She's been in the hospital for several weeks now with pneumonia and an erratic heartbeat. She kept asking to go home, so Joy and two of her brothers decided to take her home for her final days as she wished. One brother is angry with them for "giving up" and letting her go, etc. Joy could really use prayers for him too, that he will come to see that it would be wrong to keep her alive with feeding tubes etc., (she had stopped eating and drinking in the hospital), with so much pain that even morphine could not keep her comfortable for long.
If any of you would like her e-mail address to send an e-card or e-mail, write to me at my verizon addy or my yahoo address and I will send it to you. I won't post her address here as I have not asked permission to do so, but I'm sure she would be ok with the idea of getting e-mail from any of her old holas family.

is it true that women are better drivers? ...well...i have to admitt they are.they are not agressive,they drive safely,they crash rarely...nowdays there are many couples where the female is doing the driving.for example,when i go somewhere with my wife she does the driving,and i relax in the passengers seat.she drives even if we go with my car.i simply dont have problems with leting her do the driving,and i dont think that driving is only for men.she simply drives better than me(even in high-heels).the number of couples with women driving is growing,and i think that by the end of the 2010-2011 there will be more couples with women in the drivers seat.but that is a good thing becouse the traffic will be much safer. so, what are your opinions?

Our weather for past week or so was beautiful in 70's and even up to 80 once. Myself am slowly little at time buying up supplies for Hurricane season. I am not going to do like last year and run around all day trying find stuff! We are hearing its going to be a worse season than last year!

I can't understand how the government could be so stupid! I just received an article from a friend who's a newshound, you know the kind I mean, reads every paper online, every one in print, and listens to cnn constantly. What utter nonsense is going on down south with government red tape! This is only one example, but one of the worst. I read an article last night that fema over-ordered ice and water for the hurricane victims and are now shipping the ice to warehouses far from the effected area, and excess bottled water has been dumped by truckloads into fields in Florida in the past! Another thing I question is why the hell did they ship all that stuff to just the major cities? What about the small rural towns, who are always the last getting back utilies? Does nobody think of giving them some of the help? The truck drivers drove through many of these small communities and never even gave these folks a thought? Yes, I know, "We had orders to deliver it to a particular place". Who the hell did the planning on this fiasco? Yes, you need a lot more in the big cities, like New Orleans and the places nearest the gulf, but for heaven's sake, does nobody realize that the folks out in the country or in small towns or cities will be the last to get back power and other utilities almost every time there's a disaster of this kind and therefore need help for a longer period of time? What if they have no vehicle to get to the big cities to try to get help, or it was damaged so they can't go anywhere?
Ok, I will shut up now, but I may take a week or two to get my temper cooled down. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

My daughter was moving out the other day at motel , then yesterday she told me they came and informed her they would honor the month already paid for. So now at least she has some time to look for something else, which now might prove to be be very difficult.
I saw my granddaughter yesterday. She was at her grandmother's home which is better than where she was. I am still worried about the kids as she apparently just comes and goes (all do there it seems) and Grann takes care of kids and they run all over the nieghborhood and hurricane debri is everywhere! *When I was there, I asked where Alea was & they said, "she's at the park with like her ten year old cousin", and I am worried as she talked up here about playing doctor and when I asked her more, she got that look kids get when something not right. *
So put all mine on the HOLAS Prayer board. [ *Brande, Alea and Vincent Jr.] *And also Gucci & family ( that's Alea paternal grandmother. And on top of Katrina and mess, this morning my step-father died, but peacefully thanks God! So now we have a funeral as well. I will never forget this Hurricane ! Hi all. One of mom/miki's neighbors called me late last night and said mom asked her to let me know she was just admitted to the hospital. I called the hospital and she was still in the ER but was going to be admitted. They took her a cell phone and let me talk to her in the ER. She has had very bad stomach pain for quite awhile and throws up most days. The pain was so bad last night that she could not stand it and finally went to the ER. They found that her enzymes are really high and told her it is not her stomach but her heart that is the problem. They put her on a heart moniter and are running more tests. If you believe in prayer please pray for her. I am really worried about her. She has been sick for far too long and so far they have not found out why. She had a cat scan and other tests about a week ago but now they are saying it is her heart. Thanks in advance for your good thoughts and prayers. *HUGS*

It's been eight years since she left us a legacy of caring relationships that started online. I pause to remember my other friends that I met here also who are now gone because Cancer took them; Laura (Aura) Ingleby on March 15, 2001 and my very precious friend Evie Kendrick on March 12, 2005. Wouldn't it be wonderful if this was the year that the cure is found so we never have to lose another loved one to it?
Perhaps it could be, if more people volunteered their computers to work on the cancer project with United Devices. I downloaded and installed the UD program on my computer in 2001 when I first heard about it, right after Laura Ingleby died. I then started a holas team but only two others joined in and they stopped using the device after a while. I will leave the link here one more time and hope that perhaps others will get involved in the project.

It does NOT interfere with you using your computer. There may be some folks that still read here that don't know of The Field, although it's kinda hard to imagine at this point. Also some of you that may lurk there may think you need an invite to post.

Peggy, Larry and I have always love you and you continue in our prayers as well as your family now.
I still have the instructions for saying the rosary that you gave me a long time ago. We are going to a much smaller Episcopalian church now but also much friendlier. We got to do the rosary during Lent -- we have a wonderful priest.
You sure don't need any more blockages and we hope that it turns out that you don't have one.
Tell Mele hello for me. I miss her too.

I got a phone call a while ago from Kathy, Micki's back surgery has been postponed! Her leg doctor found out about it and nearly flipped out because if Micki puts any weight on her broken leg at all it could mean surgery on the leg as well. She has a spiral break, and it was a borderline decision not to operate on it in the first place, so if she should fall forward and put weight on it, there's a high chance that it would snap and become compounded, then she would need to have pins and wires put into her leg too. He also told her that crutching around with an incision in her lower back would put excessive stress on it too, and could cause a worse problem there than she has.
Like I said before, I could not understand why the back surgeon would even consider going ahead with the operation knowing she's on crutches and could injure herself worse, especially since he had told her previously that she can do absolutely "nothing" around the house for at least a month, not even the dishes. I found out tonight why he was eager to go ahead with the operation, he's retiring at the end of the month. So Micki is scheduled to see a new back surgeon in March, hopefully the leg will be healed by then.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers, seems we shook up a few things today and the angels brought this matter to the attention of somebody who could influence changes and stop things from happening in the nick of time. Please don't stop praying though, there's still a lot going on that needs intervention from above. Thanks y'all.
