I just got home from the hospital where I've been with my mother since around 9 this morning. She began passing huge blood clots from her bowels on Saturday and went to the ER and was admitted around 5 in the morning on Sunday. I, of course being her daughter, wasn't informed until this morning that she was there. I told her that once she's back on her feet, she's got a butt whoopin coming... told my dad he has one comin too... *g*
Anyway, she was diagnosed with diverticulosis a couple of years ago and told that she had some microscopic polyps at that time. Well the first thing the surgeon asked her today was if there was a history of colon cancer in her family anywhere (there isn't that we're aware of). So he's going to do a colonoscopy in the morning. As of 6 this evening when I left, the bleeding had stopped for the time being. They've had her on IV antibiotics since Saturday evening. She is swollen and bloated all over from the fluid and infection. She hopes to go home tomorrow, and I understand, but I want them to get to the bottom of this before they let her go home.

While you're praying, my father also has chronic emphysema, and is getting worse all the time. I fear that it is something so much more severe than emphysema, as he reminds me more of my husband's late father (who passed away 10 years ago with lung cancer)all the time. My dad weighs less than 120 pounds even though he eats more than I do, his eyes are sunk in, his bones are sticking out... I'm worried, not just because he's my dad and it'd be the end of my world, but because my daughter who has never dealt with her other grandfather's death will probably cease to function if the same fate is dealt to my dad.

Sorry this was so long, but I've seen the prayers of this group move mountains. I'm hoping to see it happen again.

*HUGZ*
Love you all
Angie
