Subject: To Angie and other HoLaS friends of Peggy

Karen sent this note to Peg's classmates, and it summarizes well her current challenges. Daily I'm on the phone with Peg and I can report that she has NOT lost her sense of humor, and even the most serious subject are giggle material.

TOMORROW is her (umpteenth) surgery, which she is undertandably dreading. I'll try to keep in better contact with all of you.

Ok, here's Karen note:

"I just wanted to let you all know that Peggy is going to have some more surgery this coming Wednesday. She has been trying to postpone it until after her daughter's wedding in August, but that was not to be. She has an artery in her arm that is closing off. This will be, we're hoping, the last of many surgeries she has to have in the past few years. She said there is a possibility that she may lose her arm. I pray that that is not so. [She has recently been diagnosed with diabetes also.]

She had a heart attack the day after she returned to Ohio from last summer's reunion and has not been in good health since. I am hoping that all of you will send her a card either via e-mail ... her e-mail address is SWANPEG@AOL.COM.

I'll let you all know how she's doing ... thank you for helping in this effort to bombard her with get well wishes and your prayers won't hurt either!! Karen"
