"Eh... Where'd de bird yew was wif go? She wasn't killed, Ay hope!"

It seemed like a simple question, and Erlic felt necessary to answer it since Jade had been part of the group, and now that she had departed, only he, Isobel, Ravin, and Val knew the reason why. He studied the cleric from the other world, and wondered about his past, if he had any family, if he was anxious to return. It seemed for the moment that the man was somewhat content to remain here on this other world, one he wasn’t accustomed to, until such time he, or they, could find a way for him to return.

“Jade,” Erlic began as he opened his eyes to answer the cleric. “Was in search of a book of sorts. She had been hired to find this device, and find it she did. Since business is business, she needed to return to her employer so that she could return the book. Perhaps she’ll return, and then again she might have other business to attend to.”

In reality, Erlic sincerely wished that the exotic mage did return, for he missed her dearly. It seemed that part of his life had suddenly turned in ways he couldn’t understand, and all because of one woman. It was extremely ironic that this actually happened to him.

He turned back to the cleric. “So tell me Argus,” Erlic inquired. “Just what was your world like? Similar to this one, or totally different?”

Valhorek was glad to return to the tower. Not because the adventure was over, and everyone would be safe, but merely to see how the injured falcon, Jamal, was doing. When they had left to adventure, he thought it wise to leave the bird with the Jann in the tower. This way the bird would not be injured, and could rest. The healer didn’t know how long it would take for its injuries to heal, but he hoped that one day soon, he could let the bird loose into the wilds where it could return to its own kind.

“Well Jamal,” Valhorek stated once he had the bird in his arms. “How are you doing?” The falcon simply stared at him, and Val knew better than to expect an answer of sorts. He wasn’t a mage, or beast master that could communicate with animals; he could only try to comfort the bird.

He decided to go down to the springs with the others since it was now a safe haven, and simply tend to his newly found pet. Once there, he relaxed against the wall, and started to feed Jamal. “In time you’ll get better,” Val stated. “Then, and only then, will you go free to return to your friends, and family.”

The healer simply watched the others while holding the falcon in his arms, trying his best to get the bird to eat.

Corum was having a hell of a time with Tia. When they had made it to the cavern, he had explained everything there was to explain about Brat, and Eyes, and how he had managed to find them. Corum turned to both Brat, and Eyes, giving them his best glare. “Listen up you guys,” Corum stated getting the attention of both Brat, and Eyes. “This here is Tia, and I expect you guys to be nice to her. No tricks, no pranks, got it? She’s a nice person, and if you need a safe hiding place, I’m sure Tia won’t mind, got it? Good!”

Corum felt, for some reason that the animals actually understood him, but he really couldn’t figure out why. He then turned his attention to Urchin. “This here is Marz’s pet,” Corum continued. “We’ve taught him to be a thief. He’s quite good at stealing rings, keys, and little stuff like that. And whenever you need to find Marz, find Urchin. He’ll be able to lead you directly to the ex-gang leader.”

Corum was having fun, but he couldn’t get the thought out of his mind when they had kissed back in the other strange place. He knew that it wasn’t her fault, or his for that matter, but he really had enjoyed the brief time together. He let the thought out of his mind since Tia liked Rowan a lot, and there was no sense in disrupting something that had already been established. And anyway, she was more a sister to him than anything else, as well as a really good friend. That thought felt quite comfortable with him.
