Argus was laying down in a bedroom in the tower trying not to think about Laurel nearly naked in the water of the hot springs. He sighed. Her presence was surely going to drive him mad. He didn't want to offend her by acting improperly, but if he conitinued to be near her and she continued to innocently touch him (such as taking his hand) and encourage him to disrobe in front of her... he just didn't know how long he could restrain himself.

So he had gone off to a bedroom by himself and lay down, trying to quiet his racing thoughts. All the events since he'd come out of the gateway had become a jumble in his mind and he needed to sort through them. It was quite clear he was no longer in the world from which he had come, and he had no idea if he would ever get back.

Well... he supposed it was not really very upsetting. He'd had no close friends back home, and his family were long dead by now. Who knew how long he'd been in the other world? Time meant nothing there. For all he knew the people he knew were all gone.

He lay on his back, his hands folded behind his head, and stared at the ceiling. Laurel's face seemed to hover above him and he actually reached out as if he could touch her. "Why am Ay tortured by such thoughts?" he groaned to himself.

Suddenly he heard noises out in the hallway and knew that the others must have returned. He got up, rubbed his hands over his face, and headed out to see if his services as a cleric were needed.

His eyes automatically searched for Laurel, but he didn't see her anywhere. He hoped he hadn't somehow offended her when he had sputtered and gasped that he needed to go take a nap. He had almost kissed her right there in the hallway! Surely she realized that and was now avoiding him.

He moved around the kitchen casting healing spells on those who needed them most. Tristan ran off before he had a chance to get to him, and he wondered if he would ever know if he could heal a dragon. Oddly, Tristan seemed to be afraid of Marz. But weren't the two lovers? Perhaps he had finally realized how terribly wrong such an unnatural union was.

The second group returned shortly after the first but Argus' help wasn't needed with them. Why hadn't he gone with Marz's group? It was stupid and irresponsible of him to have followed Laurel back to the tower like some sort of puppy dog when he was obviously needed by the others. He vowed not to do that again.

The others headed off to the hotsprings again. After a brief look around he still didn't spot Laurel, so he shrugged and followed the others. He didn't really need to soak, but he would enjoy it nonetheless.

He stripped down to a pair of shorts he had found in the tower. For some reason he felt more comfortable with shorts on than in his underwear, even though all these other people were in various states of undress (thank the gods none were actually naked). Automatically his eyes lifted to search for the woman who had been topless previously, but she was nowhere to be seen.

Argus frowned slightly, looking at Erlic, who he remembered had been with the woman. "Eh... Where'd de bird yew was wif go? She wasn't killed, Ay hope!"
