Author: Ravin and co.
Subject: Group B is on the move as well

Although he wasn't the only thief in their group, Ravin took the liberty of checking the door for traps when they reached the temple they set out to investigate. After announcing that he found nothing unusual on the door, he opened it and found himself staring into a large room, dimly lit by some unidentified light source.

Carefully they made their way inside stirring up a whirlwind of dust from the hardwood floor. Small alcoves lined the outer walls of what appeared to be the main worship area of the temple. Cobwebs filled the place brushing across everyone's face as they moved deeper into the room. A huge statue depicting a great giant wearing heavy sweeping robes stood at the far end of the chamber. The statue's head was that of a yak, with large, curves horns, and two rubies made up its eyes.

"That is called the faceless god," Sheikh Daraba said, pointing to the statue. "The god is worshipped by a race of Yak men and many unenlightened tribes that are said to live in the Ancient Lands, north of here." The Sheikh glanced at the many alcoves. "We should search for secret doors!"

Ravin frowned. He liked the idea of prying the rubies out of the statues eyes better but decided to follow the Sheikh's suggestion instead. After a long search, Erlic called out saying that he had discovered a hidden door within one of the alcoves.

"I knew it!" Sheikh Daraba cried. "Hopefully it will lead us to catacombs housing the Peacock Throne!"

The trapdoor squeaked horrendously but opened easily, revealing a narrow staircase leading down into darkness. Lieutenant Ardesmar surprised everyone by creating a ball of light to illuminate their path. "We Jann possess very minor magic," he explained.

Ravin palmed two throwing knives then led the others down the steps. His eyes searched for traps but he found nothing that would deter them. Soon they found themselves in what looked like a huge cellar. Numerous shelves lined the walls. All manner of wooden sculptures sat upon the shelves. Small houses, animals, and dozens of wooden dolls with puppeteer stings attached filled one corner of the large 100 x 100 foot room. Old scenery and painted cutouts that would be used as backdrops for puppet shows sat against another wall. Although the items appeared very old they were relatively free of grime and cobwebs.

"There has to be another secret passage somewhere," the Sheikh said. "Let us search."

Ravin took a step forward then winced and stopped dead in his tracks when his arm was hit by a number of needles. He spun around to see an evil grin displayed upon the face of one of the puppets. Suddenly, the damn things came to life and rushed at them. Many tried to toss needles in the faces of the humans while others attacked with scissors, and small knives.

The living dolls were too close to throw a knife properly, so Ravin withdrew his sword and lunged at one of the things. He felt a bit dizzy as his blade sliced through a wooden arm, and wondered if the needles were coated with sleeping poison or something worse.
