Subject: Let the games begin!

Tristan was excited that Erlic trusted them enough to work on the chakras by themselves, especially considering what had happened last time. Of course, Marz’s teacher wouldn’t be very far away, so if something bad happened, he could be there to fix things at a moment’s notice. Tristan was determined, however, to help Marz on his own and not call Erlic unless his student ended up knocking at death’s door for some reason or other. He was always anxious to prove that his constant presence was a good thing for Marz, and it really did help that Erlic seemed to share that same opinion, even if he didn’t voice it all that often.

Tristan followed Marz to one of the houses, throwing pillows on the floor for them to sit on while Marz rummaged around the cabinets for something. When he finally sat down baring a bottle of wine and a pack of cigarettes, Tristan gave him a curious look. Since when did he smoke and drink voluntarily like that? Oh, he thought, rolling his eyes and smiling a little when Marz made some remark about the lack of sweetness in the tobacco. He hoped Jeremy never told the others that his special cigarettes were different from the normal kind, because he really did love it when Marz got a little high, especially when he didn’t even realize what he was doing to himself.

Tristan leaned against him, peering down curiously at the bundle of parchments he was reading from. He wrinkled his nose at the list of meanings behind each of these supposed chakra things, and what they would apparently do to Marz. He blushed a little when his lover burst out laughing about the second one. If the first chakra made Marz extremely possessive, would the second suddenly make him more…more easily aroused than normal? Shit, Marz was already horny as hell most of the time! Tristan finally succumbed to the thought and grinned, deciding that was definitely one chakra they might have a bit of difficulty moving past.

The third didn’t sound any better. A super bossy Marz—like he needed that! He tried not to smile after Marz kissed him, though he figured there was probably a big difference between thinking you were invincible and actually being invincible. The other four—compassion, communication, intuition, and spirituality—all seemed to have their own varying degrees of complications, too. Tristan simply sighed and stared at Marz while he was busy studying the writings on the parchment. Well, whatever he had to go through, he wouldn’t have to go through it alone, and he guessed that’s all that really mattered.

Tristan’s heart started to thump nervously when Marz decided to begin, but he forced himself to remain calm for both their sakes. This was not going to be a repeat of what happened earlier. He tightened his grip on Marz’s hand when his look of concentration faded into one of stress and slight fear, as the powers of the first chakra gradually began to consume him.

“Shh, you’re doing fine,” he whispered, kissing his ear softly as he spoke into it. Immediately, Marz’s own grip relaxed somewhat, and the peaceful look descended upon his face again. Every time his lover tensed, Tristan drew a little closer to him, constantly assuring him that he wasn’t alone. Eventually, he moved to slip one arm behind him, cradling him against him as he slowly slipped from consciousness. After a while, he felt Marz’s whole body give a strange but comforting sort of sigh, and then he reopened those deep black eyes of his eyes and smiled, the expression on his face one of complete relaxation and peace.

“I think I closed it,” he said softly, before his eyes closed again and his head slumped against Tristan’s shoulder. Tristan breathed out a sigh of relief and kissed his lover’s forehead very gently, his grip around him loosening slightly. He let Marz lean against him, breathing deeply as he dozed, and turned to study the parchment Erlic had given him.

He was able to keep a straight face until he got to the note at the bottom, the part that Marz had read aloud. How the hell were they going to get Marz to hold back the chakra-induced climax that it was predicting he’d have? That told him right there how particularly difficult this one would be to close. And it probably wouldn’t help to have Tristan sitting right beside him, holding his hand. How am I supposed to keep calm? he wondered, since he didn’t think even he could remain impassive while watching his lover slowly getting more and more aroused.

He finally laughed out loud when he got to the last note, listing the possible negative effects of closing the second chakra. “Student might experience a large sexual appetite, have wet dreams, and many sexual fantasies. Aroused and stimulated easily at this time. And how exactly is that supposed to be different from the way he normally is?” He grinned and turned to nuzzle his lover, kissing him gently. “I’m never going to let you live this down,” he muttered, still chuckling.

After shuffling the papers back in order and rolling them back up, he shook Marz awake, smiling at his groggy, slightly intoxicated expression. “Good job,” he complimented him as he helped him stand. “I knew you could do it if you really tried.” I’ll have to remember to get him high again the next time we do this, he thought idly.

They headed back outside, Marz stumbling a couple times since he seemed to be having trouble lifting his feet up too high. Tristan slipped an arm around his waist to help him, pausing to glare at Argus who was staring at them as they were passing the hot springs. When they got to the cook fires where the others were all still dancing, he heard Jeremy shout out something about playing his spin the bottle game again.

Tristan frowned, trying to remember what that particular game entailed. Oh yeah—it was the kissing game! He stiffened slightly as they sat down, most of the dancers quickly moving to join the circle so the game could begin. Suddenly, Tristan felt horribly nervous, since he really had no experience with kissing whatsoever, aside from what he’d done with Marz and that one other time they’d played the game. “I hope no one thinks I’m a bad kisser,” he muttered to Marz, sucking anxiously on the cigarette Jeremy had passed out to everyone.

“Well, let’s get the damn show on the road,” Rowan said, gaining his attention. The elf moved to sit next to Tia, though he made no motion to touch her. “Course, some of the people here aren’t exactly choosy about who they lock lips with, so I don’t guess it’ll really matter who the bottle lands on anymore.”

Tristan stared at the elf, trying to figure out why he was acting so sulky. “Some people care very much who it is they kiss,” he muttered, slipping his hand into Marz’s without really thinking about it.

Abruptly, Rowan’s bad mood lifted momentarily, and he raised one eyebrow at the dragon, an impudent smile coming to his face. “Well, you’d like to think so, wouldn’t you?”

Tristan had no idea what the hell he meant by that statement, but he supposed he didn’t really want to, either.
