When Erlic left the hotspring to go get some sleep, Argus stayed behind for just a while. He leaned his head back against the bank and sighed, looking up at the ceiling of the cavern.

Erlic's words were true... he would have to get used to the strange goings on here or he would simply drive himself insane, and probably annoy the hells out of the others as well.

He thought about Erlic's suggestion that he might someday get revenge on the people who had killed his family. He'd never been very close to his family (they'd thought him odd for wanting to be a cleric) and didn't really feel any pressing need to avenge their deaths. That was in the past and nothing would change it. Besides, he suspected that the world he was from was long gone now.

He sat up, briefly washed his hair, then got out of the water and dried himself on a cloth someone had left laying beside the springs. He dressed, frowning in annoyance that Tristan had stolen his boots. He would get them back if he had to beat them out of that pervert's hide! In fact, a pair of dragonskin boots might just be what was called for here. Of course he knew he intended no such thing, but he was feeling very annoyed at the moment.

Finally he lay down beside the fire to sleep. He didn't want to go to bed in one of the spider houses. It gave him the creeps thinking that they were all sleeping in beds the dead spider creatures had slept in... eating their food... Argus shuddered. It was downright morbid! He closed his eyes and slept fitfully on the hard ground.

He was awakened hours later by the Jann bustling about the fire making breakfast. He got up, grabbed himself a cup of java, and looked around, hoping maybe Tristan had returned his boots while he slept. No such luck.

He nodded to the others as they began to appear beside the fire. Noticing Tristan and Marz approach, he frowned.

"Are yew going to give me back my boots yew blewdy filcher? Or do I 'ave to come beat them outer yew?" He said with what he hoped sounded like good humor, even though he was sore and grumpy from his nap by the fire.

Isobel and Ravin woke to the smell of freshly-brewed java and some delicious meat cooking. She grinned and rolled on top of him, planting kisses all over his face as she said, "It is time to wake up, sleepyhead."

He didn't open his eyes, but wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close for a long, tantalizing kiss. When it was over she was gasping slightly but grinning. "Do not tempt me to take your body yet again before we go... we may never leave the bed if I do."

They laughed together as they got up and dressed, heading out to join the others at the fire. She accepted a mug of java Ravin poured for her and sipped it quietly as he retreived their breakfast. "You do not have to wait on me, Seņor Ravin," she teased, kissing him softly as she accepted the plate he handed her.

The pair sat down near Erlic and ate their breakfast, anticipating the search for the branches. "Where would a tree such as this grow? Perhaps we should be thinking of this. In a dark cavern somewhere? In a graveyard? It is a black tree, no?" She asked of whoever might be listening.
