Marz had already departed stating that he’d be waiting outside the temple for the rest of the people joining his search party. Erlic simply stood, gathered his belongings, and mentioned he also would be waiting for those to join him outside the temple. He made his way outside, and looked around trying to discern which way was best. They had already checked out the temples, so he decided to take the closest building nearest to the temple.

It was like looking for a needle in a haystack; this branch of midnight hue, and Erlic wasn’t sure where it would be found although Isobel’s notion of it growing somewhere where it was dark, and damp would prove even more difficult. Most of the buildings in the area weren’t prone to such conditions, which only left one plausible solution that there had to be more underground areas where the plant could be found. Finding those areas, however, would probably take quite sometime, even with two groups scouring the area.

Queen Kazabet must have realized in advance what an extreme undertaking finding the mystical branch would prove. Had she not opened a chest filled with gold simply to lure them to her bidding? The guild master realized that this was very true, and most adventurers would have jumped at the chance to find such an object regardless of how much time it took.

But there were other matters that plagued the guild master, and one of them was the recent news of Eremis, and Kisa. Although what facts that had been related seemed to make some sort of sense, he knew there was more to this mystery, and the only way he could actually find out was to return to Bizmar, an option not open to him at the moment. But that option was very closely related to their current situation, especially after they had found the branch of midnight hue, for it had been reported that Tegol’s men would be waiting for them once they returned to Kazabet’s castle. Erlic hadn’t had time to think that situation all the way through, at least not just yet. He’d only drive himself crazy trying to formulate plans when they weren’t anywhere near the area. He’d have to concern himself with the matter once they were headed back to the queen’s castle.

He realized that if Tegol did in fact find out about their whereabouts, he would probably send some of his better men out to do the job, and that probably included mages. Erlic was more concerned with the safety of his friends here in Neromba than of his own life. As far as he knew, Tegol was out for Marz, Ravin, and himself. His men would probably be ordered to take the three alive, and kill off any eyewitnesses. The more he thought about the situation the more frustrated he got, until something he spotted gave him an idea. Barry had just come into the open, and Erlic realized at that moment, that if the skull were still around, perhaps it could be persuaded to scout out Kazabet’s area for any of Tegol’s men. That just might give the adventurers the upper hand. It was a thought, and he’d delve into it once they were headed back.

Once everyone was outside, Erlic led his group to the closest building. The door was ajar, and he simply pushed it open so he could peer inside. Crates were stacked in various areas of the room. There was a counter running along one wall, with shelves lining the other walls. From what he could make out, it appeared to have once been a shop of some sorts.

As the others made their way in, he started to look around. He cracked open one of the crates, and found it filled with a variety of torches. “This seems to have been a supply store at one time,” Erlic announced to the others as he held up one of the torches. He was about to place it in his pack, and decided that a time might come when they would need such an item. Hopefully some of the others would take whatever they found to be important along with them.

Erlic made his way around the counter area to see what else might have been stored under the counter area itself. He looked around the area, not finding anything at first until he noted he glitter of metal. He bent down, and spotted a lone metal box. He quickly put on his gloves before pulling the box onto the countertop. He searched for any signs of traps, and found none that he could discern. He opened up the metal canister, and inside found a key, and a piece of parchment. He opened up the parchment, surprised to find writing of sorts on it. Actually it wasn’t writing at all, it looked more like some diagram of sorts, and he tried to look around the room to see if anything matched it. He kept rotating the paper trying to make out some sort of semblance to it, but to no avail. He decided it would be best to simply keep the drawing, and the key, hoping that it would prove beneficial in some other area. Before putting the paper away, he showed it around to the other adventurers, just in case the drawing might trigger something they spotted.

He looked around the building and found no other doors whatsoever. Perhaps some of he others would have more luck.
