When Marz saw a large chunk of stone heading for Isobel he reacted quickly. In an instant the woman was knocked to the ground away from the falling debris with the ex-gang-leader's body pressed on top of hers. Marz backed away slightly to stare into her beautiful eyes. "Sorry if I hurt you, but it would have been a lot worse if I hadn't come at you like a battering ram."

Although he enjoyed the feel of Isobel's curvaceous, soft body beneath him, Marz finally removed himself from her then helped her to stand. Upon seeing blood trickling down her forearm, he retrieved a cloth from his pocket and dabbed at the wound gently. "It looks like a minor scrape, but you might want to have Val or Argus take a look at it anyway."

He gave her a lopsided grin then moved to Saras, who stood near the doorway looking a little terrified. Sensing her need to be comforted, Marz pulled the genie into his arms, massaging her back lightly while he spoke. "I bet you never had a master that went off adventuring and getting himself into dangerous situations before huh?" He assured her that Ravin was fine when he saw Valhorek pull the stunned thief out from under some rubble. After giving Saras a kiss on the forehead, they both turned to Jeremy, who walked up to them.

"The torch was knocked out of my hand by one of those big bats that flew out the door," he said. "But, I found it after Laurel made some light." He held the torch out in front of Saras. "Can you use your fire magic to light it again, or should I hunt through my pack for a Bic lighter?"

Marz released his hold on the lovely genie then strode over to the stone altar. From crescent shaped markings on the floor, it looked like the altar swung out, but no matter how hard he tried pushing the thing, it wouldn't budge. Thanks to the light from Laurel's magefire, and the little bit of moonlight pouring in from the hole in the roof, Marz found a tiny level embedded into a small opening at the back of the stone altar. Without thinking, he reached out to flip it.

As soon as Marz's fingers made contact with the lever, a painful electric shock ran through him then some powerful invisible force pushed him back, slamming him into the wall behind the altar. "Son of a raking bitch!" he shouted before gritting his teeth and rubbing his left shoulder, which felt like it had been dislocated. "There's a lever on this altar, but its trapped or some shit." Marz slid down into a sitting position and continued to rub his shoulder. He wasn't about to touch that damn altar again anytime soon!

Tia rushed over to help Jade remove the rubble covering some of their friends. Her eyes widened in alarm when they pulled out a dazed Rowan, followed by Ravin, and then one of the Jann. She moved aside when Argus pushed past her, wincing when she saw him pull a shard from the elf's arm. "Ohh, I bet the hurt," she said, reaching out to wipe sweat from Rowan's brow with the sleeve of her blouse.

The seven-foot tall Jann got to his feet then hauled Ravin up beside him. Are you crazy? the thief wanted to ask when pain shot across his ankle before the room went into a terrifying spin. As soon as the Jann released his arm, Ravin collapsed again. He sat on the rubble, rubbing the back of his sore head while trying to get his bearings. When his hand came away bloody he knew the reason for his blurry vision and dizziness.

"I'll be fine in a minute," he said to Val when the man knelt down beside him. The healer paid no attention to him, immediately conducting his own examination. When Ravin heard Marz announce that there was a trap by the altar, he called out to Jade who stood near him. "Point this at where he thinks the trap might be then say the word ZAT backwards," he told her, handing her his trap negating stone. "That should eliminate the trap. I'll join you guys once the room stops spinning."

Ravin turned his attention back to Val, who was wrapping a tight bandage around his ankle. "It's only a minor sprain," the healer said. The thief accepted the small leaf Val handed him, placing it on his tongue as he was instructed to do. Within minutes the pain at the back of his head lessoned, and his vision began to clear. While Val applied salve to minor scrapes on his arms and face, Rabin glanced around, relieved to see that no one had been severely injured by the portion of the roof that collapsed.
