Jade seemed to size him up as much as he was sizing her up, and it was quite refreshing in a way that she didn’t seem afraid of his demeanor. She explained the clothing, and he seemed satisfied with her answer, although he had the perception that she wanted to do something other than explain about the clothing.

Her next comment took him a bit off guard. Not necessarily because she had revealed to him that she was a mage, in fact he was thankful to have a magic user among them, but it was the way she had revealed her abilities. She had managed to get past his defenses, and erotically whispered in his ear of her talents, and it was those words that made him wonder just exactly what talents she was referring to.

Here was someone that had managed to counteract any defenses he threw out at her, and that somewhat annoyed him. Most people were usually afraid of even speaking to him, but not Jade. This made him wonder about her even more, despite the repercussions he had faced because of what Tegol had done. Somehow she had managed to make him believe that despite how harsh, and difficult the tribulations might be, he did have the answer, and that came in the form that the group was already aware of an impending attack. Somehow she had managed to put matters into perspective. Why hadn’t he?

But before he could answer or ask anything further, the sound of footsteps alerted both of them that the group was finally moving out. Erlic made a mental note to pursue this conversation at another time. They made their way to one of the temples, and cautiously proceeded to investigate its interior.

As soon as he entered Erlic quickly surveyed the area, noticing the ceiling, as did Ravin, and wondering about its physical condition. The large bat that made the ceiling its domain seemed to be quite happy remaining where it was at, until part of the ceiling started to collapse, and make its way downward, crashing into the various people that stood in its midst. Within no time, Laurel had managed to light up the area since the crashing rubble extinguished the torch that they carried.

He had managed to duck, and roll out of the way, receiving a minor blow to the head for his efforts. When he managed to get up, he wiped away the blood with a rag, before looking around. Rowan seemed to have gotten injured, and Jade had called out for Valhorek to tend to his wounds. Argus immediately helped out, and Erlic was glad that two healers were currently within the party. Although he had all the confidence in Val, it was always good to have some form of backup. Just as Argus was finishing with Rowan, and calling for Val, Erlic heard movement coming from behind.

He quickly turned to spot two Sharms standing several feet away. Where they had come from he wasn’t sure, but from the looks of them, one was mouthing off some sort of a spell. Erlic quickly grabbed a dagger, flipped it once in the air, and upon catching it, threw it directly into the man’s skull. That was all the time he needed to run toward the other man. He launched himself in the air, and planted both feet into the man’s rib cage, smiling as he heard the pleasant sound of ribs cracking. As soon as he resumed his stance, he pulled his knife out of the dead man’s skull, and wiped the blade clean on his clothing. He approached the other Sharm, and slammed his fist hard on the man’s chest, directly above his heart. More ribs cracked, and the man stared openly as bone cracked into his heart, ending his life.

Erlic quickly looked around for any further signs of danger. When he found none, he tried to help any others that needed his assistance.

Valhorek was torn between the events that had happened at the tavern. He couldn’t even begin to fathom the amount of injuries the people there could have sustained. Just hearing of the awesome number of casualties made him worry, and made him a bit angry. He so valued the lives of people that he hardly ever thought of killing someone outwardly unless his life depended upon it, but to here the events at the tavern made his stop and simply wonder.

His thoughts were interrupted when the group started to head out toward the temple. The journey was short, and they soon entered the building, while Val watched everything around him. The sound of bats, and rubble falling to the ground made him roll. Although he had no idea, which way the rubble was to fall, he found himself fortunate enough to have avoided any injuries. But Ravin, and Rowan weren’t that lucky. As Argus was tending to Rowan, Valhorek made his way toward Ravin. Although the man stated he was fine, Val simply did his job, bandaging up the wound Ravin had sustained.

He heard Argus mention to Rowan that he’d need a healer to simply bandage up the wounds. Since he was finished with Ravin, he approached Rowan. “Thanks Argus,” Val stated as he inspected the elf. “Nice work.” He quickly bandaged up the area that Argus had healed, and was quite happy that he had an accomplice to work with him.

Both Argus, and he went around checking on everyone before the group was ready to continue.
