Subject: A way to cool off in the desert

Jeremy was surprised to see Rowan approach since the elf had been keeping his distance from him lately. He was even more surprised when Rowan said that he wanted to go swimming with him and Saras. Eagerly, Jeremy grabbed the elf's extended hand and got to his feet. He stood there with a smile on his face as he watched Rowan help Saras to his feet as well.

Together they made their way to the pond, stopping a little away from the water. While Rowan explained the best way to learn how to swim to Saras, Jeremy stripped down to his Hanes underwear. His eyes went as wide as saucers when Rowan tossed the cat into the water, and a minute later he doubled up with laugher. He never realized that cats knew how to swim! By the time the animal made it back to shore it looked like a drowned rat!

Jeremy turned to say something to Rowan but the elf ran past him carrying Saras in his arms. A huge splash of water drenched the otherworldly youth. He wiped his face, blinked water from his eyes, and squinted at his friends. Rowan was keeping Saras afloat by holding him up by his elbow.

Since the genie wasn't in any immediate danger of drowning, Jeremy took his time entering the water. Once he passed the shallow part he dove and swam toward his friends, pinching Saras in the calf before he burst up from the water with a wide smile on his face. "Hey! We could play a game of chicken at the shallow end of the pond but we need another person. Maybe we can get Alakbar to join us. He looked pretty bored sitting over by the Jann with Justin."

Jeremy turned and laughed when he saw the mass of hair that was swirled around Saras' face. He tried his best to push it off his forehead and cheeks. "I think you'll have to put your hair into a ponytail before you jump in the water next time, dude! Or maybe I can fix it up in like fifty of these really tiny braids. A lot of the kids in my high school back home wear their hair that way."
