"Hey! We could play a game of chicken at the shallow end of the pond but we need another person. Maybe we can get Alakbar to join us. He looked pretty bored sitting over by the Jann with Justin." Jeremy said, swimming up as if he were a carp. Saras glared at him, envious of his swimming ability and yet still quite irate that he was here in the water and he hadn’t much choice about it. The dark murky depths scared him. There could be anything down in that darkness… Before he could reply “No, chicken was not a good idea, and just what was ‘Chicken’ anyway?” Jeremy pointed out that his hair was everywhere. He looked around at the thick red hair that was spread out around him and which clung to Rowan and his skin.
The youth made an attempt to brush it off the Genie’s face which should have made him smile, but didn’t. Saras was feeling quite put out. Not only was he stuck here in the middle of the pond, but his only pair of clothes were now soaked through. What was he going to do when nightfall came and it cooled off drastically?! He didn’t think Rowan had thought of that! And then there was the fact that he probably looked horrible and undignified too…
"I think you'll have to put your hair into a ponytail before you jump in the water next time, dude! Or maybe I can fix it up in like fifty of these really tiny braids. A lot of the kids in my high school back home wear their hair that way." Jeremy was saying. Saras wasn’t so much worried about his hair as his clothes. “I wasn’t the one who jumped in…” Saras pointed out. “I didn’t very much have the time to pull it back, before I was unceremoniously dumped here,--possibly to my death.” he grumbled, resembling ever so much the drowned rat that Mika-kitten had. Giving Rowan a dark look, he went to push away from the elf in hopes of heading back to shore. As soon as the safety of the elf’s hand was off his arm however, he grabbed hold of Jeremy and clung to his friend for dear life.
“Please don’t let me drown…” he said, the anger in his voice being replaced by fear.
