Marz tightened his grip on his sword, ready for an attack that never came. He was about to assist Val with a very ugly, hairy creature but the Jann rushed to his aid instead. Turning back to the wall that obviously wasn't a real wall, he stared at the sleeping Saras. Now what? he wondered. Would the monster that resembled a wall attack again when the genie woke up? There had to be a way to kill the damn thing because nothing was invincible, right? He was thinking about tossing a flask of oil on the living wall and setting it on fire to see if that would hurt it when Tristan grabbed his arm.

"Corum's missing," the dragon said, shoving Yorik into his free hand.

A flicker of worry flashed in the ex-gang leader's eyes. What about Rowan and Tia? They couldn't just leave them in the bowels of the wall creature, could they? Maybe they were unconscious since they hadn't come out of the opening that Saras somehow got the wall thing to create.

"I'll stay here," Jeremy said, drawing his attention. "So will Justin and the Jann. We'll go in to get Rowan and Tia if they don’t come out of that thing soon."

Marz had just enough time to nod at the kid before Tristan pulled him away.

Now that the wall creature was quiet, Ravin retrieved his dagger then hurried to join the search for Corum. When he spotted the dead bodies of the bald men near Erlic he raised a brow. Apparently, the fanatical priests had patrols roaming the area. The thief spun around at the sound of Barry's voice.

"The Sharm must've got him!"

Ravin looked in the direction of the west tower. That seemed to be the logical place for the Sharm to take a prisoner. He shared a knowing look with Erlic then the two men headed directly for the tower.

Marz and a few others followed Tristan's nose, hoping his heightened sense of smell would lead them to Corum. The ex-gang leader caught a glimpse of a reddish blur ducking behind a building ahead, just as Tristan pointed it out. Since Isobel was involved with a stray dog, and he didn't know what Argus was capable of, Marz grabbed Tristan. "You go around one side of the building, and I'll go around the other. Hopefully, we can trap that red thing between us."

After a nod from the dragon the youths separated, and crept along different sides of the building in question. When Marz reached the end of the structure, he turned the corner and came face to face with a six foot tall round, red blob of fur with a single eyes and six rope like tentacles extending from its body.

One of the creature's tentacles swiftly flew out, wrapping around Marz's ankle and pulling him off his feet. The ex-gang leader let himself be dragged closer to the thing then shoved his sword right into the center of its body. Tristan came up from behind, stabbing the thing until it collapsed to the ground. Marz grinned at his lover while unwrapping the tentacle from his ankle. "There's some really weird shit hiding in these ruins," he chirped, glancing at the dead creature before getting to his feet.

Together they made their way back to Isobel, who was running after the dog she found. "Come on," Marz said to Tristan and Argus when he saw Ravin and Erlic in the distance. Soon they met up with the thieves who flattened themselves against a building across the cobblestone street from the west tower.

Following their example, Marz and the others hid in the shadows to avoid detection by any Sharm looking out the tower window. "Is Corum in there?" the ex-gang leader asked.

Ravin gave him a shrug. "Barry thinks the Sharm took him. It makes sense that they would bring him to their headquarters." The thief's eyes were glued to the window in the tall tower. "Now," he said when the figure that had been sitting by the window disappeared.

Quickly, the group scurried across the street, stopping before the door of the tower. Ravin pulled out his magic trap detection device but it showed nothing magical about the door. After a close visual examination of the portal, Ravin slipped on thin gloves and reached for the knob. "It's locked," he whispered. A moment later he inserted two thin metal strips into the keyhole, moving them around until he heard the tumbler react. He replaced his picks then opened the door slowly, revealing a large circular room with a winding stairway in the center leading up to the second floor.

The entry hall was lit by a number of torches set into wall sconces. Ravin beckoned everyone forward, reading his throwing knifes as they mounted the stairs as quietly as possible. The second landing housed a number of bald headed priests kneeling in worship before a statue that depicted their god in a far corner of the room. Another stairway to the east of them led to the third floor of the tower.

"Seems we have the element of surprise on our side at the moment," Ravin whispered. Silently he moved a little closer to the chanting priests, his comrades following closely behind him. Once they were close enough they rushed forward to try to subdue or kill as many of the Sharm as possible. Using the hilt of his daggers, Ravin managed to knock two of the priests out before they even knew what hit them.

Marz sheathed his sword and swung Yorik, cracking open the skull of another Sharm. "That's for Corum," he hissed, while swinging the staff into the face of another priest as he attempted to rise.
