Now normally Corum would have continued doing whatever he was doing, but not this time. This was a first. This was an all time first. In fact it had never happened to him before. Obviously it was a first. Someone was asking him to go walking around the lake? Hey, why not?

“You betcha,” Corum simply managed to agree. He didn’t know why Tia would want to walk with him, but somewhere deep down it occurred to him that it might have something to do with Rowan. But that was all right by him, for he simply wanted Tia as a close friend, something he didn’t have many of. In all actualities, his only friend, well true close friend was Marz, and that was the extent of it. Sure, Tristan put up with him, but that was because Marz like him, and that was that.

He still didn’t know why Tia wanted to walk with him, but if she was willing, so was he. After all, they were friends, and friends could do as they pleased.

He got up, and extended his hand to Tia who grasped it firmly, while he helped her to a standing position. They headed for the lake, and talked about various subjects, touching on nothing of importance. When they reached the lake, Corum sat down, and took off his boots, rolled up his pants, and sat on the edge of the lake with his feet hanging in the water. “Hey, the water temperature is perfect,” he stated to Tia telling her to join him

Tia finally did manage to sit next to him, and was doing the same. Corum laid down, and was staring at the sky, basking in the heat, and enjoying the moment.

And you’re good. You’re so good. You introduced me to your neighborhood. Seems like I ain’t never had so many friends before. That’s because you’re good, you’re so good.

Corum thought about what Yorik had stated, and had to agree with him. Life was good; at least it was now, which of course was subject to change at any given moment. Since Tia had become friends with him, he decided it was time to help her.

“You know what?” Corum asked to the elf.

“What’s that, Corum?” she asked in return.

“You really should do something about your relation with Rowan,” he answered quite honestly, and freely. “He really likes you, but I don’t think he knows how to tell you. I think the two of you should really sit down alone, and talk things over, in private, without anyone else around, or you’ll never get things resolved.”

Why was he even telling her this? That was a good question, and one he didn’t have an answer for. It just seemed like the right thing to do. After all, Marz would do the same for him, and he decided it was time he helped out Tia. She had never said what was wrong, but somehow Corum always got the impression that it had something to do with Rowan, especially the way the elf would look at the pretty Tia.

“Anyway,” Corum stated. “We’re still friends, and I don’t like seeing you when you get upset.”

It’s not easy love, but you’ve got friends you can trust. Friends will be friends. When y you’re in need of love they give you care, and attention. Friends will be friends. When you’re through with life, and all hope is lost, hold out your hand cuz friends will be friends right till the end.
