It was probably a good thing that Ravin's empathy couldn't pick up the genie's feelings because he could tell just by the look on Saras' face that he was in emotional hell right now. And it's all because I tried to clean a flask I found! The way Ravin saw it, Saras was probably a lot happier in that Flask. At least he didn't have to put up with wishes and the silly mortals who made them.

"Listen to me," he said once the genie stopped talking. "I never wanted a genie or any wishes to begin with. I'd much rather have a good friend. Good friends can make you happy with their mere presence, and you already do that, Saras! So, stop saying that it was bad luck that I found you, because that's not what I think at all."

Ravin took another drink from his flask then let his eyes roam along the genie's beautiful face. "I don't give a damn about wishes and won't make any more, so you can stop worrying about the possibility of hurting someone when the next one goes astray because there won't be a next one!"

He pulled the genie's flask from his pocket, staring at it as he turned it over in his hands. "And I don’t see why you keep saying this is so ugly. I think it’s a great flask and personally I find such an item a lot more useful than a silly lamp!"

The thief shoved the flask back into his pocket and jumped to his feet when he heard Barry shouting about something. "Sounds like there might be some trouble." He moved a little closer and lowered his voice. "We have assassins following us so I hope you know how to defend yourself should the need arise because I don't want to see you get hurt. Now, let's go join the others and see what's going on over there."

With Saras walking beside him, Ravin made his way to where some of the group had gathered near what looked like a mirror, with a cat digging around it. "Is this what Barry was shouting about?" he asked, glancing from Erlic to Laurel. Since a mirror and a cat didn't seem to be a threat, he sheathed the throwing knife he had readied in his hand and waited for some explanation.
