Subject: I'll bring the Twinkies
In reply to: Marz 's message, "It's java time!" on 10:09:12 01/25/02 Fri

Jeremy knew that Rowan was trying to be helpful, but the elf just didn't understand! He hadn't seen the look in Marz's eyes or felt the heavenly kiss. There was no way in hell that Marz would have kissed him like that if he were truly head over heels in love with Tristan! At least that's the way the inexperienced, otherworldly youth saw things.

Rowan was probably right about one thing though; Marz didn't love him either….yet. But, it sure looked like his relationship with Tristan was on very shaky ground, so maybe whatever love he might have once had for the dragon was starting to fade. And, once its completely snuffed out, I'll be there for him!

Marz was already turning to him whenever he and Tristan got into a fight. It never dawned on Jeremy that the only reason that happened was because he made sure he was readily available to Marz. When the ex-gang leader looked down about something Jeremy always rushed to his side if Tristan wasn't around.

Jeremy's father used to tell him that any goal was achievable as long as you never lost sight of it and pursued it in earnest. Because of his fathers' words, he believed that if he were persistent enough, he'd soon take Tristan's place in Marz's heart. Hell, it was pretty obvious to him that he was already having some success with his goal. Marz wasn't drunk or high when he kissed him in the water. He knew exactly what he was doing! Next time, he might not be able to hold back. Then I'll know I've won.

The otherworldly youth got to his feet, and brushed sand from his clothes before glancing at Rowan. "I understand what you said, but I disagree with some of it. I know that Marz doesn't love me right now, but how can you say that he'd never fall in love with me? Feelings change all the time, Rowan, and nothing is impossible."

A grin came to his face when he remembered the kiss again. "Tristan is an absolute jerk, and I think Marz is finally finding that out!" He looked up when he thought he heard a noise above their heads. A few of the leaves on one of the tall trees shook a little but there was nothing there. Maybe a perched bird had taken off in flight, although he hadn't seen any birds around.

Shrugging, he faced Rowan again then sniffed the air. "Smells like java is brewing. Let's go join the rest of the group." As they walked away from the copse of trees, Jeremy gave the elf a pat on his back. "Thanks for talking to me about this, Rowan. I appreciate it."

When he saw Marz, Tristan, and Saras gathered about a fire, Jeremy increased his pace, taking a seat next to the genie a moment later. Even though he was disappointed to see the ex-gang leader and the dragon back together, he gave Tristan a smile. "I guess you don't feel uptight about sitting close to Marz now that his fleas are gone, huh? I helped him wash the medicine off."

Jeremy quieted down when Marz tossed him a scowl, but he continued to grin. "Is the java almost ready?" he asked a moment later. "I have some Twinkies in my pack that will go great with it."
