Isobel hissed in disgust at herself. "I will be fine, Señor healer," she said to Val, who clearly was having none of it. He looked very stubborn, so she sighed. "Very well, I will sit still while you fix my scratches."

She knew the cut on her thigh was deep, but she didn't realize how bad it must have been until Valhorek started working on it. She winced slightly as he sprinkled his white fizzing powder on it but firmly set her jaw and did not cry out as he stitched the wound closed. Only a slight twitching of her mouth betrayed that it might be uncomfortable. The healer then applied salve and bandaged the wound.

“It’ll hurt for a while,” he told her, “So I suggest you try not to put too much pressure on it if at all possible. I realize we’re in the middle of nowhere, and my suggestions might not come to play, but try to be as careful as you can. See me this night to examine it further.”

Isobel chuckled softly. "Señor healer, we are constantly beset by monsters and madmen in this land. Of course there will be no time to rest. However, I am certain that your doctoring is excellent and that I will be just fine."

She reflected that it would be useful to have a healer who could cast healing spells in the party, but realized that such a person would quickly be drained of any magical power with all the casting he would have to be doing!

She looked around, noticing that Marz had gone mad and was chasing the skull... then suddenly was brawling with the revolting Justin. She was surprised that Marz did not pass out from the other man's stench alone. She shook her head. They really should not be fighting among themselves... not when there were assassins following them and a quest to complete. Erlic apparently shared her thoughts, for he broke the fight up and took care of Marz. She wondered idly what had started it.

Suddenly she felt very tired and laid down for a few moments before the group would have to move on. This day was not starting out well... but it was certainly not boring.

*~*~*~*~*~*

Barry continued to fly up out of Marz's reach. The addled berk! What did he expect when he went around grabbing and flinging innocent skulls around like some kind of pikin' rock? Barry hated more than anything when people just grabbed him and started throwing him around. It was just so wrong, and damned inconsiderate too. How would they like having no body? Yeah, that's what he figured.

"Fleshies," he muttered.

As he was cackling and flying closer then farther from Marz, that big basher Justin decided to get in on the act and before he even knew what was going on Marz and Justin were brawling on the ground. Barry looked around and floated off toward Corum, hoping nobody would blame him for the fight.

"Hey, Chief... that was some good fightin' you did. Way to go!" He said to Corum. "Hey can you talk to that berk Marz? He seems to think I'm some kind of throw-toy and between you 'n' me, Chief... that really pikes me off."
