Marz thought that Tristan's idea of setting Barry up with Yorik was awesome. He had always believed that Yorik was a female even though Corum kept insisting the skull was a male. How the hell could his friend know for sure what sex Yorik was anyway?

He shook his head when Tristan asked him if he brought any of the makeup from the bath hall, but a moment later he smiled. Ravin once mentioned that he carried a small disguise kit with him at all times. No doubt there were all kinds of things in there that they could use to pretty up Yorik! Once Barry got a look at the new Yorik, he'd fall head over heals in love…….or lust……or whatever the hell a skull felt.

"I like this matchmaking shit," he chirped, while moving closer to the food table. While piling a plate with a variety of items, he listened to Isobel profess her distrust of the Jann to Ravin. As the thief was about to say something in response, Marz interrupted him by nudging an elbow into his side. "Can I borrow that disguise kit you carry?" he whispered. "I was hoping there might be something in there that could help cover some of the ugly bruises on my face."

Normally, Ravin didn't hand out his kit to anyone, but since they were on the road, he saw no need for a quick disguise. He untied one of the pouches from his waist belt and handed it to Marz. "Use the makeup sparingly then return the kit to me as soon as you're done with it."

"Sure thing," Marz answered with a smile. He tied the item to his belt then filled a goblet with wine since he couldn't find any juice or java on the table. With the goblet in one hand and a full plate of food in the other, he left the tent with Tristan. They took a seat outside on the ground, under one of the tarps that had been set up for protection against the sun.

Now that Marz knew the reason for his amplified hearing he was better able to cope with the multitude of sounds surrounding him. He did his best to ignore them; focusing only on the footsteps he had heard earlier. As far as he could tell, they were still a good distance away, but getting closer by minute.

After informing Tristan that he now had makeup, Marz bit into a slice of meat and let his eyes scan the area. He was surprised to see Erlic and Rowan off in the distance sharing a private conversation. The thing that really shocked him was the fact that he could actually hear what they were saying. "This amplified hearing would be very beneficial if I was a raking spy," he told Tristan. Briefly, he wondered what the hell the word Shado meant then turned his attention to Jeremy when he stepped out from the food tent.

The otherworldly youth looked around, disappointed when he saw that Rowan was occupied. Shrugging, he made his way to Marz and Tristan, plopping his butt down in the dirt beside the ex-gang leader. "The meat they got here tastes a lot like Filet Mignon." When he received blank looks from his companions, he smirked. "Never mind. It's not important."

Although Tristan kept tossing him dirty looks, Jeremy ignored him, focusing all his attention on Marz instead. Whenever he sat close to the ex-gang leader, he got butterflies in his stomach, and that's how he knew he was in love. He glanced at Rowan, wondering if the elf remembered his promise to help him win Marz away from stuffy old Tristan. His thoughts drifted back to the night Marz danced with him and ignited passion he never knew he had before with a fiery kiss. Hopefully, with Rowan's assistance, he would soon get to share many more nights like that with the ex-gang leader. With that happy thought in mind, he dug into the food on his plate.

When Justin exited the food tent, Marz tensed up a bit. He sipped at this wine and glared at the merc until he went off to sit by himself under another tarp several feet away. "YO!" he called out, when he spotted Corum. "Get your arse over here, turdface."

Marz washed down a bite of cheese with more of the wine then grinned at the skull-staff wielder as he took a seat across from him. "Yorik looks kind of pale," he said, trying to keep his voice as serious as possible. "Something tells me that your skull is pretty upset about that, but I can fix things right up and make Yorik feel better."

Already, Marz was beginning to feel a little light-headed from the alcohol he was drinking, but ignored the sensation. He set his plate of food down then pulled off the pouch at his waist, showing Corum the disguise kit it held. "I think it's time we gave Yorik a complete make over, don’t you?"

He laughed when he spotted Urchin consuming the meat from his plate. While petting the ferret, his eyes shifted to the sky, wondering where the hell Barry was. Since he wanted to surprise him with Yorik's new, more feminine look, he decided it would be best to do the makeover someplace more private. He gulped down more wine then met Corum's eyes. "After we eat, let's find an empty tent. We can work our magic on Yorik in there."

Jeremy thought it was kind of strange to be thinking about applying makeup to a skull, but if Marz found the idea cool then he was all for it as well. "Can I come and watch?" When the ex-gang leader gave him a nod, he grinned from ear to ear then glanced at Tristan. You're going to be history soon, dude because Marz likes me a lot better than he likes you. He just doesn't know it yet.
