Author: Marz and Jeremy
Subject: Talking with the genie
In reply to: Tristan and Laurel 's message, "Meeting the new boy" on 16:32:51 01/14/02 Mon

Ravin visibly winced when Tristan mentioned the flask, but Marz thought the question an appropriate one. He always believed that genies came from lamps, and learning that this one came from a flask was a bit of a surprise for him. When he saw the embarrassed look on Saras' face, he wondered about it. Wanting to see her lovely smile again, he got to his feet and took a step closer, his dark eyes boring into hers. "I bet that only the most beautiful of genies come from flasks," he said lowly, his voice sounding like velvet.

His amplified hearing picked up the low growl that came from Tristan. Oops! Immediately, Marz put some distance between himself and Saras. "I think I'll go get me a shirt and some blankets so we can sleep out here by the fire," he said, turning to his lover. The glare Tristan gave him made his stomach knot up with worry. "I was only trying to be nice to her," he muttered before walking away from the campfire.

Marz hurried into the tent that he and his friends had shared to work their makeup magic on Yorik earlier. He knelt down before his pack and opened it wide, noticing something he hadn't noticed before. The previously neatly folded clothing was now stuffed inside the bag haphazardly! He pulled out a very wrinkled shirt, staring at it while his jaw muscles twitched in anger.

The mess had to be Tristan's fault since he shared the backpack with Marz. Didn't anyone ever teach the dragon about neatness? Mumbling obscenities under his breath, he dumped out the clothes then began the task of folding each garment meticulously before replacing it in the bag.

*********

Jeremy and Laurel arrived at the campfire just as Marz was making a comment about beautiful genies coming from flasks. The otherworldly youth grinned when he noticed how aggravated Tristan looked at the moment because of the attention Marz was paying to the newcomer. Hopefully, he'd get pissed off enough to end his relationship with the ex-gang leader. Then I can step right in to take his place!

He watched his heart's desire hurry off toward one of the tents then turned his attention to the genie. "I'm Jeremy, and the girl beside me is Laurel." When Saras' eyes fell on his hair, Jeremy's chest puffed out with pride. "I liked your hair color so much that I begged Laurel to use her druid magic to give me the same color. And, she did!"

Since Jeremy was a big Kiss fan, he could appreciate anything out of the ordinary. "Those beads and feathers you're wearing look really cool. You got any extra that you might be willing to trade fro candy, chips, or maybe a cigarette?" It was pretty obvious that Saras had become Jeremy's new fashion idol.
