Tia looked up at the approaching figures of Erlic, Isobel, and Ravin then shook her head when she overheard Justin's lewd comment. The mercenary was probably one of the most disgusting humans she had ever met! At least he didn't look at her with that sexual hunger she saw in his eyes whenever they fell upon one of the other women in the group. Maybe her lack of curves and big bosom wasn't so bad after all! The thought brightened her mood somewhat until she saw Rowan move toward Isobel. He ignored me all this time yet runs to her as soon as she makes an appearance!

For one brief moment, anger welled up inside of Tia. As soon as she recognized the emotion, she forced it away. Life was too short to walk around begin upset over trivial matters. Rowan was nothing more than a very good friend. She knew she should be grateful for that, and stop getting jealous whenever he paid more attention to someone else. Obviously, he didn't enjoy her company very much and that was his prerogative. Why should she care if he preferred being with Kazabet, Jeremy, Sarra, and now Isobel?

At least Rowan seemed to be out of his sulky mood now and that was good because Tia hated seeing him depressed. His good-natured attitude and humor was what attracted to him in the first place. She liked a man who could make her laugh and Rowan always succeeded in doing just that. I'm glad that we became friends, even though we don't spend very much time together. She stared at Isobel and Rowan for a moment longer, pleased that she longer felt any jealousy.

Smiling, she turned her violet eyes back to Tristan, who was saying how good it felt to talk to someone other than Marz. She found she enjoyed talking to the dragon and was relieved that he wasn't upset about her rather prying question. When he went on to tell her some of the reasons he and Marz argued so much, she listened intently. Although she didn't know either of them very well, Tia's observations made her believe that they were complete opposites of each other. It was often said that people with opposite personalities were attracted to one another at first, but soon their differences began to work toward repelling them apart.

"It sounds like Marz is a pretty demanding guy," she said when Tristan fell silent. "I don't think you're boring or too quiet at all. In fact, I think you're pretty normal. Maybe Marz is accustomed to hanging around with those abnormal types, who like to rattle on and on about nothing in particular." An image of Corum came to her mind, making her giggle.

Tia glanced at the skull-staff wielder, who was busy chatting away with Barry. "It could be that Marz expects you to be like everyone else he's gotten close to, and since you're not, it drives him crazy because he doesn't know how to deal with something different." Tia took a sip of brandy then let her eyes fall upon the ex-gang leader. "He certainly does seem to attract a crowd," she said with a laugh. Laurel, Jeremy, and Valhorek were gathered around him along with a number of the women and children of the tribe. "I have the feeling he craves a massive amount of attention and possibly expects you to supply him with it. When he feels he's not getting it from you, he goes off to seek it elsewhere."

The petite thief nibbled on her bottom lip for a moment then faced the dragon. "Look, I'm just spewing things off the top of my head here, so feel free to ignore anything I say. Remember, I'm no expert on relationships." After a thoughtful pause, she cocked her head and smiled wistfully. "Actually, I think it's pretty impossible to keep someone else happy if you're not completely happy with yourself first. Perhaps you and Marz need to work on loving and accepting yourselves for what you are rather than trying so hard to be what the other one wants. Once you make peace with yourselves and are content with who you are, the road to complete happiness won't be filled with so many bumps!"

Tia let out a hearty laugh then gulped down more of the tasty, yet potent, brandy. "Oh, dear goddess! I sound like an old hermit who spits out philosophical jargon whenever he has an audience willing to listen to him, don't I?" She lifted the jug to her lips once again then grinned as she met the dragon's eyes. "Do you think this tribal brandy is turning me into some kind of wise woman?" She pursed her lips and appeared to be in deep thought for a moment then suddenly burst out laughing again.

Tia shook a finger at Tristan and tried to assume a serious expression. "Be wary of any advice given by a blonde stick-like girl because she is mildly drunk and doesn't really know what the hell she's talking about!"
