Ravin sensed Rowan's displeasure at leaving Tia in the care of someone else, and wondered about it. Maybe the elf's feelings for the petite thief were a lot deeper than he was letting on. Ravin couldn't blame him for possibly being infatuated with the nymphish beauty. Tia was an absolute joy to be around, and had an uncanny way of charming a man without even trying.

If Ravin wasn't so leery about getting involved in a relationship, he knew he'd be tempted to try and get closer to Tia because she wouldn't look down upon his profession. In fact, she would probably assist him in his endeavors. But it wouldn't be fair of him to get involved with anyone right now since he was still haunted by memories of Kyri. Gods, how he missed the woman he had fallen in love with. If he could go back in time, he would have never boarded that ship to Kor Toi. Instead he would have remained at his cabin with Kyri beside him and tried to get to the root of what was bothering her. If only I would have talked to her more instead of simply presuming that things were fine.

After a deep sigh, he reached for his trusty flask and took a drink of ale before addressing Rowan again. "Since you don't like the idea of having Corum watch over Tia, I'll go ask Laurel to do it." He patted the elf on the shoulder then went off in search of his sister.

A short time later, he found her in the cave he had spend time in the night before, looking down at the letters he had scribbled in the dirt. "I suppose I could do a lot better, right?" he asked when she looked up at him. He took a step closer and smiled. "Listen, Tia is going to need someone to help lead her along while we journey to that Sea of Salt. Since Rowan and I will be leading the group and keeping our eyes open for any trouble, we were wondering if you could take care of her."

When a noise attracted him, Ravin turned to see Alakbar practicing with his spear just outside the cave. His brought his gaze back to Laurel and lowered his voice. "There's something funny about our rescued prince. It seems he was able to read Isobel's mind earlier." He gave the druidess a grin. "Perhaps we should guard our thoughts around him, although I'm not sure how one goes about hiding what's going on in their heads."

Ravin chuckled then took another sip from his flask. Remembering his manners, he held it out to Laurel. "Care for a sip of ale before we depart this wonderful place?"
