Isobel was amused at Tristan's reaction to herself and the skull. Clearly he was upset about more than just the skull.... She noted the glances he gave to Marz and realization dawned. Ah! Amantes... she thought to herself. She did not approve of such relationships, but she had been around enough to know that they happened and that she could simply accept it or allow it to annoy. If she allowed it to annoy her, then her attention might be distracted at a critical moment and that could spell disaster. So she chose to simply accept it and move on. She would have to be careful how and when she spoke with Marz, however, as Tristan was obviously the jealous and possessive type. It would not do to win the animosity of any of her compadres, whom she might have to rely on in a battle. At least, not yet.

Isobel watched in amusement as the men leapt up to deal with the skull. The creature was unusual, this was true, but it seemed to pose little threat and was confused about where it was. Though she placed her hand in easy reach of her weapon, she did not think this odd monster was a threat. In fact, she half smiled at the thought of someone trying to run the skull through with one of their swords. Would a club or hammer not work better? Alas, she had none so would have to use her chair instead, if it came to that. Muerte might injure one of the thing's eyes, but it could float up there above them all day and they would not be able to reach it. Perhaps the strange man with the skull staff was a mago and could cast a spell at it.

As she listened to the thing speak, however, she became more convinced that it meant them no harm. In fact... her mind began working...

When Ravin welcomed her into the adventuring party, she nodded at his suggestion that she should eat something and began heaping her plate full. She was small, but she had not eaten a meal like this in a while and the man Ravin was right - who knew when they would have another chance like this?

She leaned toward him, touching his arm lightly to get his attention, and spoke softly. "Senor Ravin... might it not be advantageous to have in our party one who could fly high in the air and observe things on the ground? Scout the way ahead while being small enough not to call attention to himself? I am thinking that his skull could be useful in our quest."
