Modern day Cowboys
Modern day cowboys is about the lives of 6 college age cowboys. The show will follow the guys day to day, and the adventures they go on. There will be rodeos, tricycle racing, snowmobile, horse training, parties and of course the hangout spots where they bs about everything; including: women, work, school, old times, and what to do next.
The characters are Waylon, Jay, Eli, Brent, Dokie and Joey. Waylon the 21-year-old mechanic fresh out of college. Who is a quite tall with curly brown hair and kind of lanky. He enjoys his alcohol thoroughly. There’s Jay a saddle bronc rider that works as a guide in Montana. He’s 5’8” or so brown hair and hangs out with his girlfriend a lot. Eli is a bull rider/ logger/ horse shoer and trainer. He is pretty muscular about the height of jay. He hangs out with Jay and his girlfriend and one of her friends a lot. Brent is almost out of college with a BA in Anthropology. He is also a more muscular guy, and he like waylon enjoys the booze. Dokie is another smaller character built like Jay and Joey. He is getting ready to go to Texas for college and to rodeo. Joey is a freshman college student that tags along with the crowd. He tried bull ridding for a while, but gave up when his brother Eli went to college, now that Eli is back he has taking up saddle bronc. His favorite thing is meeting new women although with out alcohol he is rather shy.
The show will follow their day-to-day lives mostly on weekends when they are all together. The emphasis of the show will be based around rodeo a sport that all of the characters are connected through in one-way or another and all the crazy things they do to entertain themselves. Each of the characters has been a competitor in rodeos, but they all took different paths in life. There will also be the various different hangouts spots where they like to hang out. It will show a lot of the real life things that college students do: such as, in this crowd, riding in or watching rodeo events, drinking, and not to mention all the ideas they come up with while drunk. The characters I have chosen all have very different occupations, which should diversify them and make it more interesting. The show will use their split second, skewed from alcohol, decisions to its advantage to humor its audience. The show will be a comedy if you couldn’t tell, and the things they do, sometimes not far from jackass or viva la bam will keep the viewers attention. All the characters are quite humorous and willing to try anything to get a laugh out of the rest. Getting hurt isn’t much of an issue to any of them so their activities are based on the wipeouts and mishalfs not the competitive side with exception to rodeo which they take seriously.
