Subject: Do you take your kids to school sick?

DS (6) has had 2 surgeries, 3 hospitalizations and 5 cases of "X" since Jan...all of them Strep related. He's come very close (24-36 hours) to dying due to an abcessed lymph node being 2cm from bursting into his spinal cord and going 'undetected' by the dr's til the last minute. It's been a hell of a year.

What's the cause? Parents who are KNOWINGLY sending their kids to school sick. How do I know they know? The teacher and principal have told me... and there are 12 other students on campus who are similarly situated to my son.

The school has sent notes home, had meetings, called in specialists... yet these parents still do it. Today the school had it, met these kids in the parking lot and sent them home.

So... aside from the legalities and liabilities debate (feel free to 'go there', too), my question is... how sick do you let your kids be and still go to school? Do work schedules play into it? What if you knew that your actions were seriously jeopardizing the health of a lot of other kids? Would you really REALLY care?
